Keefe was recently really motivated to go to work. And most of his motivation came from a pretty blonde girl who came to the coffee shop every day. She normally came to read a book at a table, but sometimes, she came up to the counter to order a coffee.
Today, Keefe wore his green shirt, grabbed his apron, and put it on. He headed out the door to his car and started it.
Once he got to the shop, he noticed the blonde girl was already at a table, reading her book and sipping coffee. Great. He was late, and the blonde girl already had some coffee.
That's when the blonde girl stood up and walked over to the counter where Keefe was standing. She smiled as she said, "Hi. Can I have a sleeve for my cup?"
Keefe was too stunned to talk, so he just nodded. The girl was wearing a beige hoodie and blue shorts, and her hair was pulled back into a messy bun. She reached for a cup sleeve and grinned, then walked back to her table.
⭐The Next Day⭐
When Keefe walked into the coffee shop the next day, the blonde girl wasn't there. He walked over to the counter and turned his phone on.
The bell chimed, so it meant someone was at the door. Keefe looked up and saw the blonde girl with... someone else. He had strawberry-blond hair and periwinkle eyes. They were laughing and giggling and nudging each other with big grins on their faces. It made Keefe kind of disappointed, but then again, there was no way a girl that pretty couldn't have a boyfriend.
They walked up to the counter and the strawberry-blond ordered. He picked the Vanilla Bean Crème Frappuccino (One of my faves at Starbucks!).
"The usual?" Keefe asked the girl. She nodded.
As Keefe was making the coffees, he couldn't help but listen to their conversation.
"--- Hey Dex, did you hear that Fitz got another girlfriend?" The girl asked.
"Yeah, I can't believe that he's dating Stina," the boy named Dex said and crinkled his nose. "Though they both kind of deserve each other." They burst into laughter.
"So where's your girlfriend, Dex?" The girl asked.
Dex shoved the girl and replied, "Sophie, stop! You're the worst cousin ever." He grinned, and the girl named Sophie grinned back. "We need to talk about your love life. In my book, you aren't dating anyone!" Sophie shoved him. Keefe was relieved because that couldn't mean that they were dating.
"Um, your coffees are done," Keefe turned and said. He had written his phone number on Dex's cup and wrote, "Don't tell her please, I need your help", so he could find a way to contact Sophie.
Dex noticed as soon as he grabbed the cup and said, "Hey Soph, I gotta go. Biana's calling me."
Sophie looked at her phone and replied, "Ooh! Edaline's calling me. I have to go also."
"Come on, let's go," Dex said, and let her out the door. He winked at Keefe before he left.
Keefe wondered what would happen next.
