With Heulwen (named for the sunshine she'd brought into your lives) finally asleep, you silently moved out of her room and into the hallway.

You saw Hunter as you turned to quietly close the door. Fatherhood suited him. His hair was tied up from having had his makeup done and washed off. The collar of his top was still a little damp from the mess Heulwen had made washing his face.

He stepped forward, a stupid smile on his face and the wrinkles in the corners of his eyes on full display. Somehow, even after years together, he still looked at you like he had on your first date. You knew you looked a mess too. You probably could've done with washing your hair the day before and your bobble was held in place by knots.

You looked up at him, like you were judging him for his look of adoration. You let your eyes scan over his lightening hair, the scattered greys changing the overall colour. His tattoo had also seemed darker when you'd met years ago. Age looked good on him. The only thing that looked the same was his bright red bandana that you swore he'd re-dye weekly, still, it wasn't like he wore it anymore. He'd given it to Omega when her hair kept getting in her eyes.

You loved him for his changes just as he loved you for how you'd changed over the years. How you'd been changed by bringing Heulwen into the world, or how you'd have those same changes happen again soon.

He stepped toward you, wrapping his arms around your waist as he smirked down at you. "What's a beautiful woman like you doing in a place like this?" He kept his voice to a low murmur, the beautiful baritone like something tangible you could swallow. Your knees wanted to give out and the rest of you wanted to swoon. The way he flirted with you was like an art he'd spent so long perfecting that it'd take a similarly seasoned critic to find any type of flaw.

"I have a surprise for you." You smiled up at him and stole a quick kiss.

"Oh yeah?" He grinned, thinking of everything that a surprise could be. Of what a surprise normally meant. Still, you rolled your eyes at him, taking his hand in yours and taking him to your room.

You'd left the plastic-encased pee sponge on your bedside table, glad for the fact it had a cap to cover the exposed tip of the innards. You left him by the door and went over to grab it, handing it to him as he slowly stalked behind you. There were two windows in the case, both displaying lines on the sponge inside. He peered down and snorted with a little smirk. "Tech owes me so much money."

Your eyes shot up to his in wide eyed shock. "You knew?! How? I only found out an hour ago!" He'd been well within your sight for the past hour as well and you hadn't seen any of his brothers since the morning.

The cocky smirk was in full force as he looked up at you, wrapping an arm around your waist and pulling you close. He kissed your forehead, trying to secretly bask in the scent of your hair. "You smell like you did when we had Heul." You tried and failed to hold back a blush, the heat spreading from one ear to the other. You hadn't realised just how intently he studied your scent.

You let your head flop forward into him, forehead coming to rest against his shoulder. You grumbled into him, somewhat annoyed. "When you find out your wife is pregnant, you're meant to say something nice."

He brought his hand to your cheek, his warm palm cradling you so sweetly. "I did." He grinned like a cocky twat. "I said you were the most beautiful being to ever exist." You knew he grinned like that cause it didn't narrow down when he'd worked it out, and because he'd used the last of his brain's energy to come up with the comeback. He'd told you that same thing three times in the past week, and probably two to three times every week before. It'd started with a kiss on your first date, which he'd broken just to tell you how beautiful you were, and by the Force did you feel beautiful in that moment, and every moment since.

"You tell me that all the time." You 'complained', with a smile wide across your face.

"Because you're even more beautiful every day." He left a kiss against your face between each word, moving from beside your ear to the corner of your mouth. You knew the next step, and you waited patiently, face like a sunflower that could do nothing but turn toward his light. You could feel the smile in every little kiss, and you could especially feel it when he finally pressed his lips to yours. He then said something against your lips that you just about picked up on. "And now you're the mother of my children." The kiss continued, both of you matching the other so perfectly. You could breathe with it perfectly, and so could he, making it a kiss that could go on for however long you needed it to.
