It was a warm summer day and Harley was trying to sleep for as long as possible.
"Come on! You're being lazy, let's go do something! Her friend Sam says walking into her room.
Sam's mom and her mom are friends so they've been friends since they were born.
"Nooooo," Harley whined pulling the covers up.
"We should go to the park!" Sam said wanting to get out of the house. There was a huge park right across from some mall. They've been walking to it since they were kids.
"Fine," Harley sighed getting out of her bed.
Harley got up and got ready then ran downstairs to meet Sam. "Mom! We're going to the park!" Harley hollered across the house.
"Okay, are you having lunch at the mall?"
"Yes? Yeah we are," Harley said to her mom who was now in front of her with some cash.
"Be safe you two," her mom warned.
As the two kids began their walk to the park, it began getting really hot.
"What do you want to do?" Sam asked as they approached the park.
"Race me?" Harley asked and then took off running towards the picnic tables.
"No fair!" Sam whined as they stopped.
They ran around and hung out for a while until lunch time approached. Harley felt hot in the sweatshirt she was wearing, she wasn't wearing a shirt underneath so she was stuck being hot. While they walked to the mall area, Harley began to feel dizzy.
"Where do you want to eat?"
"Let's get Panda Express!" (Idek I just picked one) Sam suggested and they went inside.
After ordering Sam left to use the bathroom. Harley was feeling dizzier but had to stand and wait for their food to be done. As she stood there, her legs began to feel like jelly. Her body felt really heavy. They called the order number and she trudged over to get it. Black spots danced in her vision as de sat down.
Maybe food will help? Harley thought to herself seeing Sam come back.
"Looks good," He said sitting across from her.
They ate quickly then left to go look around. Harley was doing her best to appear normal but she couldn't help when her body began to sway, and her vision faded in and out.
"Harley?" Sam asked walking over to where she was standing in the store.
She could hear his voice but it felt like she was underwater.
"You look really pale, why don't you sit down over here."
He took her by the shoulders and they barely made it against the wall before she collapsed.
Sam was panicked, and had no idea what to do. He propped her limp body up against the wall. "Harley? Harls, wake up?" He called trying to to be too loud.
Harley's eyes opened after almost a minute. "Harley?" Sam called again trying to get a response.
"S-Sam?" She mumbled. Her brain felt fuzzy. Her head ached and her body felt heavy still.
"Yeah, do you know what happened?"
"Nooo," her voice slurred a bit.
"You passed out, we're inside a store at the mall." He informed, trying to keep her calm.
"I'm going to call your mom and have her come get us." Sam said pulling out his phone
"Hi, this is Sam."
"Yep, what's going on?" Harley's mother answered.
"Harley passed out, we're in the mall at a store. She just woke up, we had lunch a little bit ago. I think she got too hot? I don't know." He admitted trying not to scare Harley by sounding panicked.
"I can't come I had to go into the office and I can't leave. Can you call your mom to get you both?" She asked sounding worried for her daughter.
"My moms at work too. I have my key though, we can try to walk."
"I know, I just don't want her to pass out again. Try your best to get her home. Call me if it happens again."
Sam agreed and hung up the phone.
"Okay Harley, let's go. We've got to get you home." Sam said offering her a hand.
"Hmm okay. Feel dizzy..." her voice trailed off.
"I'm sure, but your mom can't get us so we've got to walk." Sam said helping her to her feet.
He held onto her shoulders, guiding her through crowds.
"I'm tiredd," she stumbled backwards and stopped.
"We're almost out of the mall." Sam reassured the swaying teen.
From that point he had to basically drag her out of the building. He held Harley's waist and made sure she stayed upright.
They'd finally exited the mall and got on the way back to Harley's house when she stopped again.
"Dizzy..." she mumbled and then collapsed.
"Oh my—Harley? Are you okay?" Sam gasped glad that he'd managed to catch her. He slowly lowered her to the ground.
She hadn't passed out, her knees had just given way. "What? Yeah I'm okay..." she trailed off.
"Are you sure you can get back home, do you want me to try my mom again?" Sam asked cautiously.
"No I'll be okay," he sighed and helped her up. They barely made it the rest of the way home. Once they got inside Harley laid on the couch, feeling extremely tired and dizzy.
"Im going to take your temperature for your mom," Sam announced sitting beside her and doing so.
"103.6," he sighed and texted the number to Harley's mom.
"Your mom says I need to try and cool you down. Im going to grab some water and ice packs." Sam said making her lie on the couch.
After placing the ice packs around her body. He sat beside her and turned on a movie. Every 30 minutes he checked her temperature and changed ice packs if needed.
Once her temperature was normal, the watched movies until Harleys mom got home.
"Honey, how're you feeling?" Harley's mom asked.
"Better," she mumbled still feeling a bit weird.
"Good, im glad. Thanks so much for the help Sam, im so thankful you were there. Your mom is on her way home, why don't you get going home for dinner." Harley's mom suggested.

The next day Sam visited, making sure that Harley was feeling better. Harley made sure to thank him many times for everything but he'd always reply "It was no big deal."
From that day Harley made sure to drink lots of water and stay out of the heat when it got bad.
This is really bad, sorry guys...
