Seventh Year

The irritating tick of the large round clock at the back of the library rings in Audrey Malfoy's sensitive ears. She flinches each time it shouts into the dust-filled air that suffocates her and the thousands of books she finds comfort in.

Every few minutes she tugs on her fuzzy red sweater sleeve and twirls the end of her long thick braid. Audrey wipes her sweaty palms over her dark bootcut jeans and taps her foot on the old wood floor. Nerves keep swelling inside of her belly. It's the most annoying feeling.

She wants to get this first tutoring session over with before she goes mad!

It's almost seven and he still hasn't shown up. Headmaster Dumbledore made it clear he wanted these sessions to start at six-fifteen and come to a close around eight.

Audrey has been sitting at the far back table that rests against a massive window for the past few hours. She wanted to get her studies over with before he arrived. And so far she's completed three essays and read two books on muggle plumbing. Not her most enjoyable subject but it did its job.

As she slides her finger over a brittle yellow page of her newest book Pipes and Toilets, the sound of abrupt footsteps seems to scream from the center of the library.

The rightfully bright Malfoy with major anger issues suddenly feels chilly. She carefully stands, not rough enough to cause any sounds. By this point, she knows he isn't going to show. So, she has no idea who's here besides her.

She gulps down the wicked butterflies in her throat before taking a few steps forward. Her slightly heeled brown leather boots create an echo. Thick gold bangs drift over her eyes as she quickly spins to her left.

"Shit!" Audrey gasps sharply as a wicked boom of thunder hollars outside. An unexpected strike of lightning hits from outside the castle, illuminating the figure that stands next to the farthest bookcase.

The now trembling girl covers her mouth with shaking hands to prevent a surprised shout from leaving her lips.

More hits of lightning envelop the skies outside and allow Audrey to get an extremely good glimpse of the boy who continues to stalk forward. She's grateful for the enchanted lanterns that are scattered around the bookcases when they finally manage to blaze.

Quickly, she fixes her composure. Audrey crosses her arms and gives Sirius Black her best glare as he approaches her. The grin on his face is just begging to be slapped off.

His deep blue zipper sweater pairs nicely with his unnaturally blinding grey eyes. However, his long curly black hair really brings his whole mysterious look together. Too bad she isn't one of his groupies. He always seems to be surrounded by girls of every year who desperately want a piece of him.

"I'm not late am I?' Sirius Black gives her a fierce wink. It causes her Cursed blood to boil.

She scoffs with a roll of her eyes. "I was just getting ready to draft a formal complaint to deliver to the headmaster."

His pearly white teeth do everything in their power to woo her. Well, unfortunately, it takes a lot more than good looks to get her to falter. And besides, boys aren't interested in the Cursed.

He takes two steps closer. She goes back one. Her stern gaze doing its best to burn his own.

Sirius is quite tall compared to her. He towers over her by at least a half foot. What does this boy eat?

They stand there for a few moments of silence. Their eyes pick each other apart piece by piece, hoping to uncover unspoken truths. He isn't going to get any from her.
