Seventh YearIt's late in the night when Audrey finally flees Professor Slughorn's office. She had many questions about her previous exam score. Audrey didn't plan on sleeping without getting answers.
Her shoulder aches from hoisting around her heavy satchel filled with all her important parchments. They range from possible career questionnaires to many different types of essays. Of course, the very annotated exam that she and Slughorn pretty much devoured with their eyes and minds.
Truth be told, he is one of the only professors who doesn't do their best to get away from her. In all honesty, Slughorn makes sure to always ask her at least one question in class. She always gives the correct answer quickly. She's sure he let Headmaster Dumbledore know of her fabulous scores.
Well, maybe not this exam score will make it to his desk. She really thought she would have gotten a higher grade. She studied for three weeks, staying in the library hours after her sessions with Sirius. Which they have increased to three times a week.
Perhaps due to Sirius wanted to hurriedly improve his grades, or because they have grown so used to each other that they don't want the sessions to end. She rather not think about that possibility. If so then her strange fondness for him will surely rise within her chest. She can't have that.
A harsh scowl continues to grace her lips as she travels down the poorly lit hallways. The various torches lining the massive stone walls fail to properly light her path. She stumbles forward a few times due to her purple pair of Converse catching on cracks in the floor. Why does the Gryffindor tower have to be on the other side of the castle?
It only grows worse as a dark-cloaked figure appears out of nowhere and clashes with Audrey. The young witch tumbles backward, landing on her behind with a sickening thud. She's pretty damn sure that something in her spine unwillingly cracked.
"Damnit!" A hiss flees her lips as she takes in the sight of her now very much loose papers peppering the ground before her.
The mystery person curses as well before getting on their knees to help fetch her things.
"I got it!" Audrey grunts when she gets to her knees, her fingers greedily snatching her papers from the person's hands.
However, before it's all back in her satchel, Audrey's keen eyes snag on a fresh tattoo on the person's arm. She knows that mark. Has seen it on her parents.
Audrey quickly grips the person's shoulders and presses them against the nearest wall. The tip of her wand finds the underneath of their chin. She nudges it a little farther into their pale skin which is conveniently illuminated by the torch that is mere inches away from their hooded face.
"Best tell me where you obtained the dark mark or I'll hex you straight to the headmaster's office. I'm sure he'd love to know about a follower of the Dark Lord lingering around his school." Her threat reigns true. She hopes it sears onto this person's heart forever.
She may hate pretty much everyone but make no mistake that she will happily be a snitch to keep the students of Hogwarts safe.
The person struggles against her tight hold greatly. Audrey shoves her arm over their oddly muscular chest roughly, temporarily filling them with pain as she hurries to swipe off the hood.
All she does is gasp as she takes in the sight of her brother's pale blue eyes that are rimmed red. He's been crying. Oh, Merlin. What has been done to him?
"Lucius?" Audrey tears away from his. He has practically burned her.
Her twin slumps against the wall, suddenly out of precious breath. A few stray tears leak down his face. This poor boy is absolutely defeated. The sight of him cowering from her gaze is enough to wound her soul.
