Wonyoung's Pov
With trembling hands, I reached for My phone, my heart racing with anxiety as I dialed my mother's number. The line rang once, twice, before my mom's voice filled the air, albeit muffled by the distance of her vacation.
"Hello, sweetheart, how's everything back home?" my mom's voice was tinged with the relaxed tone of someone enjoying a well-deserved break.
But I couldn't hold back the tremor in her voice as she replied, "Mom, it's Dad... he's collapsed. We're at the hospital."
There was a sharp intake of breath on the other end of the line, followed by a flurry of concerned questions. "Oh, my dear! Is he okay? What happened? Where are you right now?"
Tears threatened to spill from my eyes as I struggled to compose myself. "It's his heart, Mom. He's in the hospital, and... I'm scared."
The distance felt palpable as I waited for her mother's response, her heart aching for the comfort only a mother's embrace could provide.
my mom's voice, though filled with worry, was a lifeline across the miles. "Oh, Wonyoung, my heart is with you both. Stay strong, my love. We're coming back right away. Your brother and I will be there as soon as we can. Just focus on being there for your father."
I nodded, grateful for her mother's reassurance even through the phone. "Please hurry, Mom. I need you here."
"We're on our way, sweetheart," my mom promised, her voice determined. "Hold tight, Wonyoung. We'll face this together."
As the call ended, I felt a surge of mixed emotions—fear, uncertainty, but also a glimmer of hope knowing that my family would soon be by my side. In the quiet of the hospital room, she held onto that hope, clinging to the promise of support and love in the face of adversity.
As my mom and brother, Sunghoon, rushed into the hospital room, their faces etched with concern, I felt a surge of relief flood through me. I rose from my seat by my dad's bedside, my eyes red-rimmed from tears shed in worry and fear.
"Wonyoung, darling, how is he?" my mom's voice was filled with both relief and apprehension as she enveloped her daughter in a tight embrace.
I clung to my mother, my voice trembling as I replied, "He's stable now, Mom. The doctors said he just needs to rest and wait for him to wake up."
Sunghoon stepped forward, his expression a mix of worry and determination. "Do they know what caused it? Why did Dad collapse?"
Taking a deep breath, I recounted the tense confrontation with tour father, the weight of my words heavy in the air. "It was during our argument about the arranged business deal. Dad... he got angry, and then he collapsed."
my mom's eyes widened in shock, her hand flying to her mouth in disbelief. "Oh, my dear! I had no idea things had gotten so heated between you two."
My voice wavered as she continued, the weight of the confrontation still heavy on her heart. "I didn't mean for it to escalate like that, Mom. I just couldn't go through with the deal, not at the cost of my own happiness."
Sunghoon's brow furrowed with concern as he placed a comforting hand on my shoulder. "You did what you thought was right, Wonyoung. None of us could have predicted this."
Tears welled in my eyes as I looked at my family, our unwavering support a balm to me troubled soul. "I just hope Dad wakes up soon. I can't bear the thought of losing him."
My mom pulled me into another embrace, her voice filled with love and reassurance. "We're here for you, Wonyoung. Whatever happens, we'll face it together as a family."
