Yujin's POV
The sincerity in her eyes pierced through my drunken haze, and for a moment, I felt a flicker of hope. But the hurt was still fresh, and I knew it would take more than words to heal the wounds between us. Affection fueled by alcohol and her beauty stirred something within me that I had missed for a long time. Without thinking, I lowered my lips to hers, starting soft and then becoming more insistent. I lifted her onto the bed, continuing to kiss her passionately. I trailed kisses down her neck, savoring the moment as desire took over.
Suddenly, the phone rang, cutting through the intensity of the moment. We both froze, the sound jarring us back to reality. Wonyoung reached for her phone on the nightstand, her breathing heavy and uneven.
"It's...it's my office," she said, glancing at the screen. "I have to take this."I nodded, stepping back and running a hand through my hair. The abrupt interruption left me feeling even more conflicted, the moment shattered by the intrusion.
Wonyoung answered the call, her voice steadying as she switched into professional mode. I watched her, a mix of frustration and longing coursing through me. This was our reality—constantly interrupted by obligations and duties.
As Wonyoung spoke on the phone, I couldn't help but feel the weight of our unresolved issues pressing down on me. The passion we had just shared was real, but so were the problems that loomed over our relationship.
When she finally hung up, Wonyoung turned to me, her eyes reflecting a mixture of apology and determination. "I'm sorry, Yujin. It was an urgent matter. But this...us...it's important too. Let's not lose sight of that."
I nodded, taking a deep breath. "I know. We'll figure this out, Wonyoung. It just...it feels like everything is against us sometimes."
She stepped closer, taking my hand in hers. "We'll make it work, Yujin. I promise. No more interruptions to..."
Feeling a bit shy, I looked down, then back up at her. "Let's just sleep and cuddle, Won."
Wonyoung smiled gently, her eyes softening. "That sounds perfect."
We walked over to the bed, the tension from earlier dissipating. As we settled under the covers, Wonyoung wrapped her arms around me, and I nestled into her embrace. It felt comforting, a reminder that despite everything, we still had each other.
Wonyoung's Pov
When I woke up, I saw her lying beside me, peaceful and serene. Last night felt like a dream. Did I really surrender myself to her, letting down all the walls I had built? The thought made my heart flutter with a mix of emotions.
Careful not to wake her, I slipped out of bed and decided to make us breakfast. I wanted to do something special for her, a small gesture to show her how much she meant to me and how committed I was to making this work.
As I moved around the kitchen, the aroma of coffee and freshly cooked food filled the air. I found myself smiling, a sense of contentment settling in. Despite the conflicts and misunderstandings, moments like these reminded me of why I wanted to try—why I believed in us.
Lost in thought, I almost didn't hear her footsteps as she entered the kitchen. I turned to see Yujin, her hair slightly tousled, looking at me with a sleepy yet warm smile. I couldn't help but laugh softly—God, she was cute and looked like a lost puppy.
"What's so funny?" she asked, her voice laced with curiosity as she rubbed her eyes.
I shook my head, still chuckling. "Nothing, it's just...you look adorable. Like a little lost puppy."
Yujin pouted playfully, trying to maintain her seriousness. "A puppy? Really?"
I nodded, setting a plate in front of her. "Yes, a very cute puppy. Now sit down and eat. I made breakfast."
She glanced at the table, her eyes widening in appreciation. "Wow, this looks amazing, Wonyoung. Thank you."
We sat down together, and as we began eating, Yujin's initial surprise turned into genuine enjoyment. Between bites, we exchanged light-hearted conversation, the atmosphere relaxed and comfortable.
"I have to admit," Yujin said, swallowing a mouthful of pancakes, "I could get used to this. Waking up to you, having breakfast together...it feels right."
I smiled, my heart warming at her words. "It does, doesn't it? Maybe we should make it a habit."
Yujin nodded, her expression softening. "I'd like that. A lot."
I asked her, "When will you be back home after work?"
Yujin paused, thinking for a moment. "I should be home around seven, unless something unexpected comes up. Why do you ask?"
I shrugged casually, though I felt a little flutter of excitement inside. "Just wondering. Maybe we can have dinner together. You know, make it another habit."
A warm smile spread across Yujin's face. "I'd love that. Dinner sounds perfect."
I reached out and took her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "It's a date then."
I reached out and took her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "It's a date then."
As we finished our breakfast and the morning began to slip away, I glanced at the clock. "We should start getting ready for work," I suggested.
Yujin nodded and stood up, stretching slightly. "Yeah, you're right."
I moved to our bedroom and began picking out her outfit for the day, carefully selecting a tailored suit that complemented her style. As I laid it out on the bed, I called out, "Your dress is ready!"
Yujin walked in, her eyes lighting up at the sight of the outfit. "Thanks, Wonyoung. You always know exactly what I need."
I smiled, feeling a sense of satisfaction. "Just trying to make your day a little easier."
We dressed quickly, both of us falling into a comfortable rhythm. Despite the tension that had clouded our relationship recently, there was something reassuring about these small acts of care and consideration.
As we headed out the door, Yujin turned to me with a soft smile. "Have a good day, Wonyoung. I'll see you tonight for our dinner date."
I nodded, returning her smile. "Have a good day too, Yujin. See you tonight."
As I walked out the door, a strange feeling settled in my chest. It wasn't just the warmth of Yujin's smile or the promise of our dinner date—it was something deeper, a sense of familiarity that tugged at the edges of my memory. I couldn't shake the feeling that being with Yujin reminded me of someone from my past.
Throughout the day, as I worked through my cases and met with clients, my mind kept drifting back to that nagging thought. Who did Yujin remind me of? And why was it so significant?
Thank you
