You had to go away that day
To some faraway place I'd never known
And I never thought I'll later find a way
To decide I must go on in search for a throneHonestly, I don't know how I came up with that
But it was certain that I did
Now I don't feel anymore like a sprat
For I'm sure I grew up from being a kidThere was a place in my mind
I wish I could have found before
I wish I'd have not been blind
To see what was beyond the shore
But I travelled on and on
I'm glad I'd decided on that
Now I don't have to mourn
Until my poor mind has gone all flatI'm happy I realized my own purpose
To fly along with the wind like the free birds
That sing their own chorus
Which does not even have any wordsAnd today I'm singing you this song
That speaks to you in a simple melody
Before the day I may perhaps be gone
And leave my everything as a legacyThere was a place in my mind
I wish I could have found before
I wish I'd have not been so blind
To see what lay beyond the shore
But I moved on and on
I'm glad I'd decided on that
Now I don't have to mourn
Until my poor mind has gone all flatSo now I'm heading for ecstasy
With a new destiny for me ahead
And I'm saving myself some clemency
As I happily doze off on my bedOh, I indeed when on and on
I'm overjoyed for doing that
I really have nothing left to truly mourn
Until this poor mind has gone all flat
