Kyle:
I was starting to lose hope when all of a sudden I heard an explosion coming from outside the building.The zombies that were walking around the area were attracted to the sound and started going the other way, my brother, Camile and I peeked out of the counter ever so carefully to avoid making any noise and give away our position. As we were eyeing the zombies one of their heads exploded followed by a gunshot.
“They’re here…!” my brother whispered just enough for Camile and I to hear.
“Who’s here…?” Camile asked.
“The people who said they were going to rescue us…” My brother sighed and I could sense a hint of relief in his tone. I sighed in relief as well. I remembered my brother fiddling with his phone while we were still in the closet, maybe these were the people that he was messaging.
While we waited for the coast to be clear, we stood up so that we could see who those people were.I could see a person wearing a red shirt and underneath was a white long sleeved shirt… Suddenly, an image of a person flashed in my head… I remember that outfit… That’s…
“Xinji!” my brother called out.
Xinji looked our way while the others were busy shooting and clearing the way. “There they are!” he pointed and started to run our way. “Are you guys alright?” “Barely… If it wasn’t for Camile, we would’ve died either of hunger or being ripped apart by these……” “Good, glad we weren’t too late” Xinji interrupted me.
“Now, let’s get you guys out of here.There are humvee’s outside waiting for you.” He added and without another word, we got out of the stall and started running towards the entrance where they came from. I have never been so relieved to see them…
Tina:
What’s taking them so long…? I was starting to get really worried for my brother and the others that accompanied him inside. Were we too late? Were there too many of those disgusting zombies in there that they couldn’t handle it? Were they….. I didn’t want to say or think about the worst possible case scenarios that would happen to them.
I kept on eyeing the entrance, eagerly waiting for them to come out… I could even feel butterflies in my stomach and to my relief I saw Kazuo come and then Kyle followed by Camile then my brother and all the others that followed him inside.
You could imagine the amount of relief that washed over me… All that was missing was a choir singing ‘Hallelujah’. I motioned my hand telling them to hurry up, the coast was clear but who knows when those things would start to horde up again.
I grabbed the radio and pressed the button “START THE HUMVEES!” I commanded. I wasn’t going to waste anymore time after all, it’s impossible for all that commotion not to attract something more… Dangerous.
A few seconds of silence followed the reply of ‘Roger’ coming from both humvees and the three of us started the engines all together and not too long after Kazuo and Kyle jumped in, the chute followed by my brother. “Where’s Camile?” “She went with Capz” my brother answered without looking at me. “Let’s MOVE!” was it just me or was he just eager to leave? Well I couldn’t blame him, who would want to stay here anyway.
But I noticed something different from my brother, even my mother and father did too. “What’s wrong?” my mother asked him before I could while patting his back. He kept his eyes on the little windshield that was at the front of the car, he was starting to sweat, we followed his gaze and what we saw sent chills down our spine.
Enya:
I was crouching on the roof of the humvee and helped Camile climb up, she nodded her thanks and I smiled at her. After that I waited for Capz to climb up before going in. But before I went completely inside the humvee I noticed capz staring into a distance and I could clearly see fear in his eyes. “Capz?” I tugged on his sleeve but he just kept on staring.
I titled my head and followed his gaze… And with that I could feel my body stiffen. What we saw was something different it wasn’t like those scrawny walking zombies… This, was BIGGER… and much more DANGEROUS. I wasn’t even sure it it was human.
It had an overgrown snout, over grown mouth a LONG crooked neck, empty eye ball sockets with blood flowing out of them, a tail that was big enough to knock down an entire building, overgrown arms that had overgrown nails, a belly that was grotesquely swollen two legs that were crippled but that didn’t slow it down and I could smell it’s rotten body from way over there to where I was… It was disgustingly horrifying.
I was too in shock to move, when I could faintly hear Xinji’s voice call out from the Radio. “MOVE, NOW!” Capz snapped out of his fear and tried to snap me out of it too, it worked only for a bit until mark pulled me just enough to make me go in chute, Capz followed. Law, started to back the humvee up as fast as he could as well as the others…
But I couldn’t get what I saw out of my head… It wasn’t human, but it had human like face features even the arms and legs except they were deformed… It wasn’t even an animal, but it had a tail… What was that thing…? Before I faded into a trance, I heard Xinji scream again…
“MOVE AS FAST AS YOU CAN! DON’T LET THAT THING CATCH YOU! MOVE, MOVE, MOVE!!!”
