I awoke, water was lapping at my feet. I felt grains of sand stuck between my toes. My hand lay beside me. I tried to move but I lacked the energy. Water bounced off a rock and splashed me awake. I got up startled and looked around me. Where was I? I looked out at the ocean, it was spectacular. I couldn't see a boat in sight. I indulged in the peacefulness of the beach. Then it hit me. I wasn't home the last place I was, was in my bed sleeping. I felt my sides for my pockets. I looked down, I had no trousers on. How did I get here? I kept asking myself that same question for what almost seemed like an hour. I couldn't remember anything.
I decided that this was a dream. There's no way I could have went from deep inside the country side to the beautiful sea side. I pinched myself, I felt the pain it stung a little spot on my arm for a few seconds. Was I really dreaming?
I ran out into the water, to splash myself some more. Nothing happened, after a few minutes of trying different things I decided that I was not dreaming. Maybe I had just sleep walked over here from my house. Gran would be searching for me and I would get back just fine then it hit me. I looked at my body, I felt stronger and bigger. "My arms are longer than I remember..." I muttered to my self. "I'm much taller than I remember too" What has happened to me? Who is this gran person that I keep telling myself I can go back too?
This was definitely real yet so not real. I looked down at my arm in fear...There was a gem like thing in my wrist. I had no idea what it was. I felt it, it was so smooth yet it cold. Odd would it not be heated by my body heat?
I had too many questions unanswered. I looked down at my feet. I went back into the water to wash off the sand, then I scaled the rocks and went to some grass. That felt better. I didn't know what to do. I didn't even know who I was. All I knew was my name yes I know my name! It's....I didn't know my name no matter how hard I tried it would not come to me. I slumped down beside a tree.
There was a great rumble of the ground. It shook the tree and it fell. I rolled out of the way as it crashed down beside me. The ground kept rumbling rocks shifted, the trees wobbled. I looked up. It was the most magnificent thing I had seen. It towered above me like a ten story flat. My jaw dropped so far I could have sworn it hit the floor. I ran, I ran past the beast. It humongous feet, bigger than me crashed into the ground flattening the tree that had fallen over. I took cover behind a rock, behind was a deep forest. I didn't dare go inside. I looked back at the massive beast. It's long neck stretched over to the trees behind me and ate the leaves. I stepped out and waved my arms it ignored me. I soon realised that this "beast" wasn't going to hurt me. Well on purpose any way. I looked up at the blue sky. I was getting thirsty. I saw no river with clean water. I ran back to the sea. It may be salty, but its all I have. I cupped up a hand full of water and drank it. It cleared my throat and I prepared myself for a strong taste of salt that would have me coughing.
There was nothing. The water was clear. I took another handful of water to be certain but it tasted the same. This was unusual. I looked about then took some more. The sun was setting and it was getting dark. I had to find shelter, I looked around but saw nothing on the shore line. I walked around then found a small space in between some rocks. I took shelter there. It was getting cold so I decided I'd make a fire. I gathered some sticks and stones then threw them in the hollow. I made a small circle with the stones then place the sticks inside. I then realised that I had nothing to start the fire with. I had no flint to create a spark. I sat up confused with myself; where did I learn how to make a fire?
I decide that I would try to gather some flint. However I had no tools.... I went out and gathered some fiber from plants with a sharp stone. I then found two sticks and chose the thickest one. I got the sharp stone and went back to the hollow. I attempted to wrap the fiber round the stick and the stone to weld them together but it didn't work. The stone would just flop off or when I was getting some where the stone wouldn't with stand a hit.
I pondered at what to do. I tried one more time and then something unusual happened. The gem on my arm started to glow I held my arm up to look at it. Its light flooded into my eyes, I didn't know what was happening but I couldn't stop it. It glowed fiercely, I saw something - my eye adjusted. I could see a stone pick-axe just like the one I was trying to make but much more effective looking and it seemed to actually work. The light stopped glowing. I looked at the stick, the stone and the fiber I picked them up then suddenly they were taken from my clutch. They floated above the gem and the gem shot out a light going through them. They combined together and created the pick-axe that I had saw. It landed firmly in my hand. I wrapped my fingers round it. It was a bit weighty but that just showed the strength of it. I went out and struck my pick against a big rock. After a few hits I broke into the rock and found some flint. I mined it out and headed back to my fire. I grabbed a stone and scratched the flint against it near the sticks. It soon let loose sparks and lit the fire.
