I huddle inside a hollowed tree, blown over by the harsh winds of the winter. I heard the yapping of wolves outside. They sniffed the air for a scent of me. The blood of one was all over my body allowing me to mask my own scent. There was a sound of bark crunching as one of the wolves yapped then jumped on top of my hiding place. I held my breathe and hoped for a miracle... The wolves scratched at the log, scraping its claws along the bark of the tree. Then it stopped and breathed ghastly through a small hole above me.

There was an excited yapping in the distance then the other wolves chased after the sound of a group of Megaloceros dashing through the trees. I waited a few minutes after they left then crawled slowly out from the tree. I looked around at my surroundings, snow all around...I was in a hollow with a small rock wall behind me covered in icicles and snow. There were hundreds of large paw prints littered around in the snow. Which all went down a tight path to the left of me. I decided against going that way. I looked down at my gem it glowed furiously. I suddenly got light headed and crashed to the ground.

I awoke clutching my spear at my side, sweat dripping from me... What was that!? I looked at the green plants and vines crawling up the large boulder behind me creating a wall. I darted my eyes up at the shanty roof above me. It was intact, everything seemed normal. It seemed to be another one of those mysterious dreams I got almost every night.

I got up and pushed the overgrown tree leaves out of the way. I turned around and looked at them. "Huh so stuff grows faster here too? It just keeps getting weirder" I whispered to myself. It was time for my first hunt with my brand new spear. It was a bit flimsy but it should be able to take out at least one of those spitting beasts. I walked slowly down the slope towards the beach. My feet sank into the sand, I jumped up in pain. "Oww, The sand is blazing hot." I whimpered to myself.

I kept to the side in grass and followed the beach along. I looked straight ahead, there was one of the spitting beasts eating a corpse...It looked like multiple small bodies, I couldn't tell what the were. I moved behind a tree for cover. I peeked around at the spitting beast. I could see what it was eating now that I was at a better angle. They seemed to be giant ants, giant ants... I don't understand this first the beasts now giant insects? I crouched low and shifted slowly towards the spitter. I was relatively close, I held my breath then leaped forwards. I landed on the spitter and brought my spear down on its head. It went right through, it let loose a cry which follow with a whimper as it crashed to the ground. I pulled out my spear releasing the blood of the spitter it splatter over me. I quickly stabbed down with my spear again to make sure it died. The body was limp, I had did it...The deed was done. I looked towards the dead ants they seemed like they had been fully harvested by the spitter.

I quickly realised that I had left my hatchet back at home to skin the beast. I dropped my spear and sprinted back to house. If you could call it a house and dashed through the vines grabbed my hatchet then ran back as quick as possible. I begged to find nothing else feasting upon my kill. I looked ahead the body was motionless. I continued on and slid beside the dead spitter. I grabbed my spear and put it by my side. I raised my hatchet and cut open the spitter. I then did my best to skin him. I got roughly 5 pieces of good hide and a piece of good meat for me to eat. I didn't know if it was edible for all I know that gooey spit could be in there organs. Flowing through the veins like a polar bear. I headed home and attempted to start a fire to cook my new meat. I stopped and looked at my house it was empty. I had forgotten that my gem had consumed all of my items it a flash. I poked at my gem and tried to see it I could get it to activate nothing happened. I slouched down against my back wall and thought about how to open it. Maybe I should treat it like a backpack and go to open it but with my mind... That makes sense but I can't do it with that thought in the back of my mind.
