"Now Ivy, in order to get proper education you need to go to daycare!" Yakko ordered as he tried to get Ivys yellow and green sneakers on, but she was fighting him. She did NOT want to go! "No no!" She complained as she tried to move away from Yakko. "Honey, it's only 1 day a week for 4 hours! Calm down!" Yakko coaxed her as he finally got her other shoe on. "There's lots of nice people there you can play with! Aren't you excited!?" Yakko asked her once again. "NO!" She yelled back angrily at her big brother. "Oh you are, just you wait and see how fun daycare can really be!" Yakko said as he picked her up and carried her to the door.
She reached her hands back into the air to try and grasp something but she couldn't and was swept away off her feet to school. Wakko and Dot waved goodbye to their siblings as Dr scratchandsniff drove off with the two toons. Ivy, screaming as she usually does around scratchy.. was sitting in the back in her car seat while Yakko was in the front. "She must be excited for daycare, ya?" Scratchandsniff asked Yakko. "No not really actually, but we have to send her there at-least 1 day a week, she needs to experience the world! Right Ivy?" Yakko asked the cranky Ivy backseat. "no." She simply said. "Well atleast she stopped crying." Scratchandsniff said, looking at the positive side. So they drove all the way to daycare, and once they stopped at the drop off point Ivy started to whine again.
Yakko got out of the car and went into the backseat to grab Ivy and get her out. "Oh honey, everything will be ok!" Yakko said sweetly as he picked her up, the crying returned as she buried her head into Yakkos chest. "Shhhh" he shushed her. "I'll be out in a few scratchy, just go ahead and park!" Yakko said as he walked into the building while scratchandsniff went to park. Yakko said Hi to other parents as he walked in, them all just giving him a glare as they don't always see toons out of the studios very often. They were also staring because Ivy was screaming everyone's ears off. Yakko finally made it inside and after signing in was able to enter the baby's section of the daycare.
Ivy removed her face from Yakkos chest to look around the room and observe her surroundings. Children playing, all about her age. There were lots of toys and things for the kids to play with, and nobody seemed sad or angry or any negative emotions. "See Ivy, doesn't Daycare look fun?" Yakko asked, Ivy was still unsure about this. "How about we play together for 5 minutes before I leave ok?" Yakko asked to which Ivy responded with a small head nod. So they played with some toys for a bit, and made a castle out of blocks. Then the clock hit 9am, and Yakko knew he had to get on his way for an important business meeting at the lot. "Akko, Akko no go!" She said as a single tear fell from her eyes. "Sweet heart, I will be back soon! You don't have to worry! I'll be back at 2pm, in just a few ours... ok sweetie?" He asked calmly. Somehow she became calm and allowed Yakko to leave.
After he left she decided to just go with it and have fun. What was a cartoon's definition of fun, you may ask? BEING ZANY! so that's what she did! While the other kids were playing with their blocks and boring toys, Ivy decided to devise a plan to get a bunch of bandaids from the daycare assistants. She had just seen a little girl get a hello kitty band aid, and Ivy was envious. She wanted bandaids too, but she had to be hurt first! She took out the red markers from the marker bin and coloured all over herself to make it look like she got beat up and had cuts all over her, then she crawled over to the assistants, crying. "What's wrong? You poor thing- yo- you have marker all over you?" The assistant questioned. Oh no! they discovered her plan!
"Let's clean you up." The assistant said as she carried her to the bathroom. She cleaned her up, gave her no hello kitty bandaids and sent her back to the playroom. Ivy decided that if she wanted the bandaids, she would just have to get them herself! So she crawled to the bathroom when no one was looking... she snuck into the bathroom cabinet on the floor which was surprisingly not baby proofed or locked and was easy to get into. She got into the bandaids and found all the hello kitty ones she could ever hope for. So she placed them all over herself and contently headed back to the room. The assistants didn't seem to notice or care, so Ivy started to pick it up a notch and start causing some trouble.
She took out all the pretend food and started throwing them everywhere on the floor, creating a huge mess, but the assistants were too caught up in their conversations together, so Ivy just continued to make a mess. Then she decided it needed to go even further when the assistants didn't notice, so she started screaming at the top of her lungs, getting the assistants attention. The assistants looked over worriedly, but saw that nothing appeared to have gone wrong, Ivy giggled at their worried looks. The assistants groaned as she continue to scream and make lots of noise for fun, Ivy loved this! Yakko was right, this was so much fun!
Then, came lunch time. The assistants got out the plates and food and set the baby's into their high chairs. Ivy was feeling especially zany and decided to not let the assistants get her into her chair by kicking and pushing every time they tried to get her in. Her legs were stiff and would not go into the chair. "Are you kidding me? Get your body into the high hair!" The assistant yelled, but Ivy didn't stop giggling at the annoyed look on the lady's face. Finally after what seemed like an eternity she stopped squirming and let her put her in her chair. By that point the assistant was sweating, tired and angry. But Ivy didn't care, she thought it was hilarious
When they brought the kiddos their lunch in Ivy instantly grew angry. Green apples and cheese? What kind of lunch was this? She was use to being fed all the food she wanted because she was spoiled and her brother was Wakko. Also she did not like green apples! "NO NO NO!" She screamed as she flipped the plate and made the food go flying everywhere. The other baby's thought this was funny and copied her, all laughing together afterwards. The assistants, all furious but the baby's, amused! After lunchtime was nap time, and Ivy was now refusing to take her nap. "Cmon Ivy, just fall asleep.. please." The assistant begged, she was tired and honestly she wanted the nap and needed the nap more than Ivy!
"I.. please.. fall asleep.." she groaned as she closed her eyes and fell asleep right in front of Ivy. A few minutes later all the assistants were out cold, including all the other baby's except for Ivy. Ivy took this as her chance and began trashing the place, throwing (clean) diapers everywhere, bottles, toys, making a huge mess. The assistants slept the whole afternoon away until pick up time. It was 2:05 pm and Yakko entered to pick Ivy up. "Yakky!" She cried out as Yakko went to grab her off the floor where the assistants lay on the sleeping mats along with the baby's. "Wow, your class is very....sleepy?" Yakko questioned as Ivy giggled. "Huh- wha?" One of the assistants woke up from their sleep. "Don't worry kid, just sleep... you obviously need it. Love what you've done with the place by the way!" Yakko winked as he left with Ivy in his arms. "Wait? What?" The assistant realized as she looked around at the messy playroom. Yakko just chuckled as he exited the building with Ivy.
What a silly little mischief maker!!
