"What happened" Rafe said as she got into her car and starting it.
"Oh, uh nothing, my brother just texted me" Alyssa said avoiding eye contact with him as she drove away from Barry's, towards her house. They sat in silence the rest of the way to Alyssa's house.
When they got to her house, she unlocked the door and walked in, Rafe following behind her. She hung her keys up on the key holder and looked over at Rafe.
"You want anything to eat or drink?" She said making her way towards the kitchen.
"Ill just have water please" he said following her.
She grabbed two glasses, going over to to fridge and filling them. She thought about the messages she got from the unknown person. It couldnt be any of her friends, cause she had all their contacts saved. She saved everyones contact, so it had to be someone shes never texted before. But how did they get the picture? Theres no way Sarah sent it to people, she wouldnt do that to her. She felt cold water running down her hand and saw Rafe walking toward her in her peripheral vision. She looked at the glass, realizing she'd zoned out while filling the glass, and now there was water all over the kitchen floor and all down her arm.
She sighed shaking her arm trying to get some of the water off of it, as the glass slipped out of her hand, falling to the floor and shattering everywhere. She jumped back and looked down at the mess she made and let out another frustrated sigh as she teared up.
"Hey, its okay dont cry" Rafe said holding her arms and helping her carefully step away from the glass.
"No no no my mom is gonna be so mad." She said. Her lungs felt like they had no air left in them as pushed his arms away.
"Alyssa breathe" Rafe said, pulling her back and putting his hands on her cheeks.
She looked at him and held onto his arms, slowly getting air back into her lungs. He gently stroked her cheek with his thumb as she calmed down.
"You okay now?" Rafe said softly, still looking at her.
She nodded and kept looking at him. He moved closer to her face, his eyes scanning over her. She quietly gasped and parted her lips. He moved closer, about to connect their lips, as the front door opened.
