In this specific book, the main protagonist, is called Elliot rather than just Y/N, as I don't really like using Y/N as a name. I hope this clears up any confusion within the book. And I hope you enjoy reading the first chapter!

Natsuki looks at me, her pleading pink eyes staring right into my soul. I glance over at Yuri, and she's no different. Her purple glimmering eyes are as if they are saying, "Pick me!"Pick me!". I don't know who to pick at all.

"Just choose already!" Natsuki scowls.
"I don't wanna make anyone upset!" I shout back.
I take a quick glance over at Natsuki again, and then Yuri.
"Hm. Banner making or baking?" I mutter to myself.
"You guys surely aren't making this easy for me." I say

Sayori's ears perk up from the corner of the club room.
"I know what we can do!" She exclaims cheerfully.
"What?!" We all ask.
"Flip a coin! Natsuki can go heads, and Yuri can go tails!" Sayori seems very proud of herself for coming up with this idea, and honestly, I'm proud of her too.
"I guess we can give that a try." Natsuki mutters.
"Who has a coin?" Sayori asks while looking around the club room.
I put my hands into my blazer pockets, and I have a little rummage through all of my papers, candy wrappers, and whatnot, but then, I see it. It was a slightly rusted old quarter that had probably been in my pocket since the start of the first semester. Even though it's old, it will still do the trick.
"I found one Sayori!" Sliding the coin across the desk in between Yuri and Natsuki.
"Perfect!" Sayori cheers.
Yuri picks up the old tarnished quarter, puts it in between her pointer finger and her thumb, and then she drops and spins it. The coin spins and spins around the desk until finally, it lands on....
"HEADS IT'S HEADS!" Natsuki booms.
Yuri looks at me with a mix of disgust, anger, and sadness but then looks away as she notices I saw.
"Congratulations, Natsuki!" Monika says as she approaches our little coin spinning corner.
"So it's settled. Natsuki and Elliot will be baking, Yuri will be banner making, Sayori will be making flyers and writing poetry, and I shall be getting the stall ready and doing some admin. Does that all sound right to you guys?" Monika asks as we all nod our heads.
"Perfect! We can all get started tonight." Monika says gleefully.

I began to walk over to the desk that the baby pink teapot was seated on and grabbed myself a pretty little pink china teacup and poured myself some. It was a warm green tea, perfect to pair with literature, as Yuri would say so herself. As i'm lost in thought, I fail to realise that Natsuki is standing right in front of me with an agitated look on her face.
"Finally, the dingbat notices me" She scowls.
"Sorry, I was spacing out." I say apologetically.
"Thinking about anime girls?" She teased.
"No! I was just pouring myself some of this green tea and got distracted, that's all."
"Hmm, likely story. But anyhow, I need you to move out of my way because I have manga to read" She points at the closet behind me.
"Oh, sorry!" I say.
As I move away, she paces into the closet, grabs some sort of teenage girl love story manga, and struts away to a desk nearby.
I shake my head and laugh to myself   "Oh Natsuki and her manga" I say quietly.

A little more time passes as I sip my tea, and before I know it,  it's already getting close to the end of the club meeting. Before I get to even think, Monika shouts "WE HAVEN'T EXCHANGED POEMS YET!"                                                                 I'm gonna be honest but I completely forgot about that." I chuckle.                      "Well you can't get out of it now!" Monika laughs.                                                I walk over to the desk where we previously flipped the coin, to be greeted by Monika, Sayori, Yuri and Natsuki. I grab my sage green backpack which had been sitting next to the desk, and I pull out a slightly crumpled piece of paper with some scribbles of words on it. As I do that, Natsuki gives me a sour look, but quickly switches up, as she realises Monika was looking."Honestly, I don't think it is my best work, and I think it was a little rushed but there's always room to improve!" I say proudly.                Everyone just kind of looks at me blankly, except from Sayori who gives me a sweet side-smile.
