"So what did you study in school?" Jimin asks her, rather unexpectedly one day while they're driving back to Minjeong's after dinner.
Minjeong chances a glance at her. "What brought this on?" She responds instead of answering.
Jimin hums, still fascinated with the sights of the city, if the way she keeps looking out the window is any indication. "I just realized I've never asked. I know your favorite color, but not which school you went to."
"You know my favorite color?" Minjeong asks, putting a hand up in defense when Jimin shoots her a look. "Of course I do, it's all over your place."
"Fine, fine. It's not like it's a secret, anyway." She acquiesces. "I went to Yangsan. Majored in History of Art and Architecture with a certificate in Medieval and Renaissance Studies. Department names, not mine."
"That's—" Jimin starts, eyes widening. "Wow, that must have been a lot of work."
"It's not too bad if you enjoy it," Minjeong says with a chuckle. "I actually used to dream about working at the Art Museum. I mean, the History Art periods are my thing, but I've always loved Warhol's work. And you know, honestly, I'm not even good at art, but you want a three thousand word analysis comparing Gericault and Delacroix and how they influenced later French art, then I'm your girl."
Taking a deep breath and only now realizing that she hadn't breathed once during that whole rant, Minjeong feels her face heat up. "And that was way more information than you were probably looking for."
"No, not at all!" Jimin laughs. "I think that's the most fired-up I've ever seen you. It's fun to see people get so passionate about the things they love."
"You should see me at a baseball games." Minjeong jokes, blush still stubbornly on her face. "Well, what about you? Where'd you go to school?"
"Hansol High School, actually," Jimin admits, eyes averting back out the window in what Minjeong can only assume is a fit of shyness. "I was a drama major at Hansol for the Arts. I used to want to do Broadway."
"Really? That's amazing!"
Jimin makes a noise in the back of her throat, something between a chuckle and hum. "It's a lot less glamorous than it sounds."
"A bit like being a movie star?" Minjeong quips, turning onto her street.
"Oh, trust me. Broadway is infinitely less glamorous than acting in movies." Jimin tells her with a full laugh. "Shows every night and even some afternoons. It takes over your whole life. And overseas is so much more stressful than Korea."
"Is it really that bad?"
"I think it's the weather," Jimin says. "It's either too hot and muggy or too cold and windy there, and it drives people mad."
Minjeong snorts, pulling into an open parking spot a house down from her place. "As opposed to overseas, where it's hot all the time."
"You get used to it." Jimin argues. "Though I do miss the snow. I'm a bit sad the filming won't last till winter."
"Ha, if you think winter's here are anything like winters in overseas, you have another thing coming." Minjeong jokes, getting out of the car and waiting for Jimin to do the same before locking the doors. "The potholes are ridiculous and the roads are about as straight as I am."
