Minjeong's dosing in Jimin's cast chair, when she feels a pair of hands clamp down on her shoulders. Jumping a solid six inches in the air, she whips around to find Jimin clutching her stomach with one arm while the other hovers over her mouth to stifle her laughter. She tries to fix her best look of annoyance on her face, but between Jimin's gorgeous smile and the melodic sound of her giggles, she can't keep a matching grin from overtaking her lips."What's the big deal?" She asks, certain the smile on her face is turning goofier by the second.
"I wanted to surprise you!" Jimin says, once she calms down, though it's hard to make out the words through how much she's trying to catch her breath. "Not like that, although that was great."
"Uh-huh," Minjeong says, mildly annoyed that she can't even pretend to be upset with Jimin. This crush will be the death of her. "And how were you going to surprise me?"
Jimin just gives her one of the brightest smiles Minjeong ever seen and pulls out her phone. Minjeong catches a glance of her lock screen, that damned picture of them still on it, before Jimin turns the phone to face her.
"With these!" Jimin says, and a loud squeal escapes Minjeong's throat before she has the chance to stop it.
"You didn't!" Minjeong gapes, snatching the phone from Jimin's hand to reread the email on the screen.
"I did."
"How?"
Jimin shrugs nonchalantly. "I got the assistant director's PA to get them for me."
"These are right behind the Home Plate! How much did these cost?"
"That doesn't matter, Minjeong." Jimin says with a light laugh. "But this is only half the surprise."
Minjeong swears she's going to faint. "There's more?"
"There's more." Jimin confirms. "I had it delivered to my trailer while we were filming."
"Well what are we waiting for?" Minjeong says, grabbing Jimin wrist and dragging her off towards the trailer. A few whistles follow them, but Minjeong can't find it in herself to be embarrassed.
Bursting through the trailer door, Minjeong's eyes are instantly drawn to a pair of jerseys folded neatly on the coffee table inside, both bearing the number of her favorite player. Suddenly overcome with emotion, Minjeong sniffles, eyes burning with developing tears.
"Please tell me this is it, because if there's more I might cry."
Jimin laughs, slipping her wrist from Minjeong's limp grasp to wrap her arms around Minjeong's waist and rest her head on her shoulder. "This is it. And I'm glad you like it."
"Why?" Minjeong chokes out, throat thick.
"I wanted to show my appreciation for all you've done for me these few months." Jimin explains, lifting her head so Minjeong can turn around in her arms and give her a proper hug.
"You've been a great friend Minjeong, and one of the best people I've been lucky enough to meet. There's not much time left for me to show you how grateful I've been to have you as my personal assistant, fake girlfriend, and best friend."
"You didn't have to do any of this." Minjeong says, burrowing her face into the crook of Jimin's neck in an attempt to rip off the tears threatening to escape her eyes. "I would have understood if you just said so."
"I know," Jimin mutters soothingly, hands rubbing calming patterns on Minjeong's back. "But actions speak louder than words, and I know how much you love baseball games. It'd be a travesty for me to leave without experiencing one of your favorite things."
