~3rd Person POV~

Naruto, kicked open the door to his new dorm room with a burst of enthusiasm, his usual cheeky grin plastered onto his face. Bustling sounds of the college town just outside the window promising a year full of excitement and adventure. He dragged his orange suitcase in, the wheels bumping over the door frame, and glanced around the decently sized, cozy room Two beds, two desks, a shared closet, and just enough space to make it feel not too crowded.

The blondes gaze fell onto the other bed, already occupied by a few neatly stacked books and a laptop. 

'Oh? Guess that means the other ones mine?' 

Naruto said a look of confusion plastered over his features. His new roommate had evidently arrived before him. Naruto's stared at the bed a tad bit confused, why did they just drop their stuff off and leave? Not bothering too stay and say hi... He had a slight mental image of how he thought they would be but brushed it off and began unpacking...

Just as Naruto reached out to hang up his last piece of clothing, the door swung open quietly, and Naruto turned to face his new roommate. Giving a slight unamused look for a split second as he took in the sight of the raven-haired, slightly taller figure standing in the doorway.

"Oh! Hi, Sasuke?" Naruto exclaimed, his voice tinged with surprise, as a soft, closed eye smile graced his feature 

Sasuke stepped into the room, his piercing onyx eyes sweeping over Naruto before a small smirk tugged at the corner of his lips, quickly hiding it as his face went back too his usual uncaring expression. He dropped his bag on the the bed giving a quick casual glance towards Naruto 

"Dobe." he acknowledged coolly, shutting the door behind him with his foot.

Naruto's mind raced. Sasuke, the aloof and slightly cold student, who wasn't exactly a stranger too popularity, was his roommate? The same Sasuke who always seemed to have a dark cloud hanging over his head, who rarely spoke more than a few words to anyone? This was going to be interesting in a way..

"So, we're roommates, huh?" Naruto said, trying to sound cheerful as he gave a light laugh, holding his hand out with a nervous smile. "Guess that means we we're made for each other in a way?"

Naruto spoke giving a quick wink in a sarcastic matter with his usual cheeky smile plastered across his face

Sasuke looked at Naruto's hand for a moment, then raised his hand too shake it before lowering his hand deciding against it. "Guess so.." he replied, his voice low and smooth, slightly softening still having its edge too it

An awkward silence settled across the room as they both resumed their unpacking in silence.   Naruto stole glances at Sasuke, wondering how they would ever even get along. He was the total opposite of Naruto – reserved, quiet, and always seemingly lost in thought. Naruto decided he would eventually have to be the one to break the ice, per usual.
