Chapter 7

The sun. It shins into my eyes. Forcing me out of bed. That's when I remember. Today is the reaping. I decided to get up and put on one of my many dresses. Once I'm dressed, gale comes knocking on my door. "Come in" I announce

" hey rose, you okay" "Yup, I'm super". "Look rose you, me. We both know hats going to happen today." He tells me. And I'm not surprised by what he said, because its true. " yeh I'm going to get chosen, so why not prepare myself" I tell him. "So, hunting in the woods. Whilst leaving me locked up in your room. You know she went half an hour after you did, that was you preparing" "Sorry about that". "Rose you remind me so much of your mother". "Yes gale, you told me yesterday." We don't speak anymore, he just hugs me. I think that was because I have my mother in me. And he still doesn't want to let go. Once we stop hugging. He does something to my hair. When I look in the mirror I see that my hair is exactly the same as what my mums was. Before she volunteered. The time has come. I find fin, and we go to the square.

Once we have signed in, I'm separated from him. And ordered to go to a group with other 15 year olds. A weird Capitol woman comes on stage and talks about why the games are back, then shows us a video of the first uprising,mans the second. "Ladies first" she announces. She walks over to the glass ball takes out a slip. "Rose Mellark" me. Everyone expected that. So i make my way to the stage. By the time I'm there she is announcing the boy. "Fin Mellark" my brother
