Josh’s POV

I was surprised to see Carrie still up watching movies waiting up for me. I felt bad for leaving her all alone here. I knew I shouldn’t have gone but what more could I do. Michelle kept dragging me from place to place. I sat next to her and placed my head on her shoulder.

“Hey, why are you still up? Missed me while I was gone?” I whispered.

“I-I just wasn’t that tired you know? So I decided to watch a couple movies. Where’d you been all day? “

Shit. What do I tell her? She’ll be pissed if I told her I was with some other girl I just met. Especially that I’ve been drinking too

“Uhm, I was just at Connor’s place to play some video games. As usual, he beats me. Way ahead.

I could tell by the look on her face that she wasn’t convinced. Her face was filled with concern and anxiety. She knew something was wrong. I saw her eye was on the verge of tears. I was about to tell her the truth but before I got the chance to, she was already sprinting towards the now opened door.

Her hair swishing through the thin air, her voice only sobs heard, her legs running as fast like she was running a marathon. I thought about running after her but I knew she needed some time alone to think.

Carrie’s POV

I had no point of where I was heading but I just kept running. My legs were weary but I didn’t care, I had to run somewhere. Away from Josh, away from Connor, everything, I just had to leave it all behind. All of a sudden, I found myself in a park I used to go to with Josh when we were about eleven.

*Flashback*

“Look there’s a swing! Come on!” he said with excitement in his emerald green eyes.

“Okay, okay! Just wait up for me!” I replied while catching a breath*

“You know, you’re a really amazing friend Carrie. You always cheer me up. “He said as he sat on a swing facing towards me.

“Really? Thanks Josh. I can say the same for you too. “ I smiled sitting on the swing next to him.

*end of flashback*

I sat at the exact same swing I sat on 7 years ago. I remembered the last time I was here I was laying down on the grass in between Josh and Connor after we had a small picnic about 6 months ago.We were laughing at the jokes Josh was telling and we were all having fun. No romance, just fun. All of a sudden I heard a voice, not just any voice. I recognized his soft, toned voice, which somehow I found hot.

I turned back and saw Connor. It was Connor. Oh my goodness why is this happening to me all the time, falling in love without even thinking.

“Hey, you alright?” his smile is so wonderful I always get lost in those green eyes of his. He sat down next to me and started looking so worried but I know that he tries to hide it.

“Oh yeah I’m fine, just tired,” I lied because I wanted to know what his response will be like, “So what’s up? And how did you even find my here? You’re creepy you know that?” I cracked a laugh to make things less tense and silent.
