Carrie’s POV
I decided to call one of my friends, Kylie. She was prom queen in Junior Prom so I thought it would be best to ask her for help. I dialed the number and after 2 rings a voice came through my phone. It was really high pitched and I could definitely tell it was her.
“Hi Kylie, its Carrie.”
I met Kylie during freshman year. I was in biology and I had no partner since Josh took Chemistry. When all of a sudden she came up to me and started talking to me about sorts of different things. Me, Josh and Kylie were really great friends but after I stopped taking biology 2 years after, we weren’t really that close anymore.
“Oh. What’s up? We haven’t talked in a while have we?” she said with a cheery voice. I chuckled.
“Yeah. I called to ask you a favor.” I replied almost immediately.
“Uh, sure I guess.” She said.
“Its fine if you don’t want to. I can jus- wait did you say yes?”
“Yeah, I know we haven’t talked in a while but I would definitely help.”
“Okay, I need you to help me dress for some sort of date thing. Not really a date but well you know.” I said in a soft voice.
Kylie arrived in 15 minutes. I took a quick glance at the clock and it was only 5:25, which means I have more than an hour to get ready. We were in my room trying to find me what to wear for tonight. I had a couple dresses Mom used to get me for special occasions.
“What about this one?” Kylie said holding up an orange party dress. The dress is strapless, above the knee-length and right at the waistline it has a thin bow strapped onto it. “Go try it on.”
I went in the bathroom and quickly changed into the orange dress. It fitted perfectly and it wasn’t too short either. I walked out of the bathroom and saw smirk form in Kylie’s face.
“Its perfect! Now on to hair and make up.” she exclaimed with her hands up in the air.
Connor’s POV
Okay, everything is set. Just ring the doorbell and be casual. Act casual, its just Carrie. Who am I kidding? This is fucking nerve racking, but I have to do it. I range the doorbell and my jaw literally dropped.
Carrie looked amazing. Her hair was curled up into flawless long curls; her dress was gleaming under the sky, her blue eyes shone through. I could tell she was wearing make up but it wasn’t too much. It just made her eyes stand out more than it already was.
“Uh, hi. Are you ready?” I said trying not to say anything stupid.
“Yeah, just let me get my purse and we can leave.” She responded.

“Thank you Connor. I had a really amazing night. It was fun.” Carrie said.
We were currently at her doorsteps after our picnic, more of a date though. I hadn’t asked her since I didn’t want to ruin the moment during our picnic. I decided I would ask her when I drop her off and this is it.
“You’re welcome. Carrie, I have something to ask you. Is that okay?” I said trying to act calm.
“Of course. What’s up?” she said while rambling with her keys trying to open the door.
Carrie’s POV
“Of course. What’s up?” I said while rambling with my keys trying to open the door. I ended up with two keys left to try to get the door open when my body was yanked back.
Right after I turned around his lips came crashing onto mine and like I knew what he was doing, I kissed him back. His hands cupped on my cheeks and my hands around his neck. Connor pulled away and a smirk formed on his face. What the hell was going on? One minute we didn’t even know a lot about each other and the next minute he was already kissing me.
“So…” I said with a confused look on my face.
“So…” he said mimicking me.
“I’m being serious Connor. What is with you kissing me? “
He walked over to the bush next to the front door and took out a dozen red roses. He then stood in front of me with a smile on his face. I could see his hands were tense as the veins on his arms stood out.
“Carrie, will you be my girlfriend?” he said holding out the dozen red roses to me.
I was shocked. But in a good way, I was mesmerized too. I couldn’t believe he went through all this trouble for me. No one else has. The first boyfriend I had dumped me a week after he asked me out. Connor was different; he just has this atmosphere around him that makes me feel really safe. He was the definition of perfect.
I snapped out of my thoughts and blurted out “Yes.”
I flung myself into his arms and he his arms immediately wrapped around my waist. His smile was from ear to ear showing his perfectly shaped dimples. We just stood there staring into each other’s eyes.
“I’m glad you said yes. I was so nervous you’d reject me.” Connor said before crashing his lips back to mine.
