Chapter 2

"Wait, really...?!" Alicia asked in quiet shock. She can't believe what she just heard. "Yeah Alicia, I can't believe it either..." Maria replied, also shocked. They both just heard the news that one of the neighbours from Alicia's area found the dead body...Wait...

Was it relatable to the loud noise I heard earlier..?

"I don't know if I could go home alone tonight now...after hearing this..." Alicia added, how can't she be? Someone was murdered near where she lived!

"Sorry Alicia, but you can come to my place if you want to spend the night."

"I can't Maria, Dusty was home alone. I can't just leave him there."

"Then how about this afternoon you take him to my place?"

"Did you forget? You and I had important meetings this afternoon!"

Maria sighed, "Well, at least try to get leave early I suppose?" She suggested. Alicia shrugged, at least she could try. She look at her watch, to see their lunch time is over. They both got out from the restaurant to return to the work later and had meetings.

"Stop being overly paranoid and have some iced tea I bought for you." Maria complained. She's just trying to find a way for Alicia to calm down when she's going home soon. Not that she panicked or anything but Maria seems to see that way. "I'm trying! But it's not like I'll have a heart attack when I go there. Alicia added. Getting a bit annoyed. "I know, I'm just worried what will happen to you." Maria reassured while looking down. Alicia smiles, feeling grateful what her friend's trying to do the right thing to keep her better. "I'll be fine..." she mumbled.

Alicia's Uber is here, she used Maria's phone to call it since she left hers at home. It's getting pretty late, she better start going home now. She say goodbye to Maria and so did she with a 'good luck'. She got inside the car and tells the driver where to go. As she's on the way home, she fiddle with her phone to keep her distracted. Until she came across an article that catches her attention...

The Styles Group began showing their presence around the cities of London. It was reported that they will be active this time around especially at night...it was required to all citizens to lock your doors...

That group? They're getting aggressive. They've been showing up in the news lately...But are they responsible to the killing on the other article?

"Miss." Alicia heard the driver call her. "Yes?" She responded. "It's seems there's a problem here."  The driver answered. Confused, Alicia look at the front. Only to see the road is under construction. Seriously? This time around? Alicia sighed knowing she had to walk her way half there. "It's okay, you can just drop me here." She said to the driver. She pay the driver and then get out of the car. As the Uber's car turned and drove away. Alicia began to think how am she suppose to get pass this...

She tries to find another way to get to her home. Eventually, she found another way for her to get through this fixing road. But when she cross it, she still has long way to go. Alicia sighed to herself, knowing she might be exhausted after all of the walking. And Dusty must be feeling lonely at home. She needs to get there as fast as she can.

As Alicia's walking her way home, she found a tunnel that seems to be a shortcut to her way home. But it was so dark in there, 'should I go in?' She thought. She just want to be home already... "Aah, I'll just take a shortcut...my legs are killing me..." She answered her own question. As dark as it looks, she just wants to be home quick and this tunnel might be an obstacle for that.

Alicia took a deep breath and then let it out, she finally went inside the tunnel. She found herself an alternate way of turns. But it didn't worry her much since she knows which way she should go and there's a bit of light which lights up a bit of the tunnel.

"It will be fine..." she whispered to herself. The ambience scares her a little. Alicia continues her way like yesterday's path.

She was about to turn to the right which is the right way until...

She heard a gunshot on her left...

Was it..? Or it wasn't..?

"Stop! Or I'll shoot!"

Alicia froze when she heard someone's voice coming from the left path. The same path that someone was murdered... It was a man's voice. She's pretty sure it's the same man that made the gunshot noises yesterday.

The curiosity got the better of her, she went to the left to see. She found herself a new area...her heartbeat beating faster and her legs are shaking. She peaks through the corner and found what she saw, changes her life...

She saw three men...one seems to knee down which is must be the victim...her eyes widened when she saw the two men beat up the poor knee down one... She can't move even a little, afraid they'll hear her. She don't have the strength to raise my voice...the only thing she could do is just watch...and become a witness of a poor man who gets beaten up.

Not a moment later, they finally stopped their beating and everything went dead silence. Only the sounds of the man groaned from the pain. Alicia feels the sympathy...when she sees him try his best to get up and on his knees. It looks like he's trying to beg for his life...

Instantly, she hears a gunshot...

Alicia screamed, without realising...she just made a grave mistake...

She witnessed the murder! And those two men shocked to hear her screams. Alicia was about to run but it was too late...They saw her!

Alicia ran to her right without looking back, she hears them chasing behind her ... she don't know which way is right way anymore. She needs to get out of here!
