During the intense fight between Ruelle, Horus, and Seth against the numerous assailants, [Name], who was inside the barrier, held Hanakate's hand in fear and anxiety. Hanakate, who seemed to hold an air of determination and conviction, looked at [Name] with a sense of resolve. "Hanakate, we should leave this place," [Name] urged, clearly worried about the dangerous situation they were in.
Hanakate, however, appeared to have other plans. As she stood firmly with her staff in hand, Hanakate muttered, "My grace, thank you but... I cannot leave this place." Hanakate's response seemed to suggest that she had some sort of responsibility or duty to fulfill, and leaving the temple did not appear to be an option for her.
"What do you mean you can't?" [Name]'s words suddenly stopped as a body dropped to the bloodied floor with a thud. The sight of so much blood on the ground was too much for [Name], who quickly closed her eyes.
"That's the last of them," Horus informed Seth as the two of them stood in the aftermath of the battle. Ruelle started to clean his khopesh with a white cloth as he sat down on the floor.
Seth approached the barrier protecting [Name] and Hanakate, his hand on its surface as he knelt and called out [Name]'s name. "[Name]..." he said gently, staring at her with eyes full of compassion.
[Name] slowly opened her eyes in response and looked at Seth. Her gaze immediately darted to the bloodied floor below, but Seth stopped her by saying, "No, no, look at me. Don't look away. Keep looking at me, [Name]. I'm here." There was a sense of calmness and safety in Seth's voice, his words seemingly designed to calm [Name] down.
In that instant, the barrier protecting [Name] and Hanakate started to fade away, and as the two of them made physical contact, [Name], who seemed to have been nervous before, blushed slightly.
Seeing that [Name] was beginning to calm down, Seth, with a smile on his face, reassured her. "See? Nothing to be afraid of." Seth's calm and soothing demeanor appeared to be having a positive effect on [Name], helping to alleviate her anxiety and put her fears at ease.
Hanakate then tapped her staff against the water, causing a vibrant green hue to emanate from the device. Suddenly, the previously empty stalls within the temple became teeming with women, many of whom looked at them with surprise and awe.
"Distortion magic, eh?" Ruelle scoffed as he rose to his feet. "Impressive. No one sensed them here." Ruelle's statement suggested that the magical distortion caused by Hanakate's staff was indeed an impressive feat, especially given its ability to deceive even the most experienced magi who were present within the temple.
"It's to prevent men from seeing them," Horus uttered wryly, drawing Hanakate's attention with his comment. His words carried a tone of melancholy as if he were recalling a distant memory. [Name] was curious to know more about his background, but Hanakate quickly cut in, her words serious and deliberate.
"The mission my goddess Isis gave to me was to stay here and protect these women." Hanakate's words appeared to carry a great deal of weight, and the gravity of her task was evident in her tone. The mention of Isis brought to the forefront a sense of responsibility and duty to the forefront, highlighting Hanakate's loyalty to her goddess.
Seth, with his arms crossed, turns his gaze to Hanakate with a serious expression on his face. His words were blunt and straightforward as if he were trying to get straight to the point. "So, you're all going to die a noble death together?" he asks, his tone implying that he saw little merit in such a path.
Seth's words prompt [Name] to react swiftly, calling out his name in an attempt to steer him away from such a morbid line of thought. "Seth!" [Name] exclaims a note of concern in her voice. Seth, however, remains unfazed, and instead, the tension is slightly diffused as he looks away and tilts his head to the side, a sign of embarrassment or amusement at [Name]'s reaction.
"Hanakate, I cannot protect all these women with my power alone," Horus began, his eyes fixed on Hanakate, as if he were pleading for her to provide a solution. But he paused once he noticed Ruelle clearing his throat and [Name] raising her brows. "I mean, there's still Goddess [Name] and Ruelle here, so maybe we can protect you all," he hurriedly amended, before Seth spoke up, his tone firm and decisive.
"No," Seth uttered, causing everyone present in the room to turn their attention towards him. He continued to speak, "Ruelle is a capable companion, but still lacks some skill."
Ruelle appeared to be offended by Seth's words, and he spoke out, "Excuse me?"
"You're excused, now for [Name]," Seth elaborated, his feet tapping the ground, "she is also a goddess, but she is also a being that trapped herself within the barriers of her empire, meaning she does not know much of the dangers of the world."
Seth's words were accompanied by a sense of solemnity, as he painted a clear picture of the challenges that the group would need to face. His expression was serious, his eyes locked on the women before him with a sense of gravity and responsibility.
"Are you suggesting that the goddess [Name] is weak?" Ruelle muttered, approaching Seth with a tight grip on his khopesh. He seemed to be quite displeased with Seth's earlier comment, and the tension between the two men was palpable.
Seth, on the other hand, remained unfazed, his eyes locked on Ruelle, with a glare that radiated the same intensity as the man holding the khopesh. "No, Ruelle," he replied, "I am saying that [Name's] life is too valuable to be risked in the defense of all these women here."
Seth's tone was firm, his words delivered with a sense of conviction and purpose. He seemed to be implying that [Name's] life was much more precious than the other women's and that she needed to be protected at all costs. His words carried a weight of solemnity, and it became apparent that he was taking the situation extremely seriously.
