Chapter 3: So Cute!

In the Mossdeep City Gym, Anthrax

My first battle. I've got this. "Go, Shuppet," I say quietly, throwing my Pokéball. A small purple figure appears in front of me. "Shup," It says. "Go Sneasel!" Frost Yells. "You've got this Anthrax!" I hear Sapphire yell. I've got this! "Use fury swipes!" Frost yells. I start to grin, he doesn't know his type chart! The Sneasel runs after Shuppet and tries to hit it. But its claws go right through its ghost-like body. "Shuppet! Use shadow ball!" I yell, finally attacking. The ball of darkness flies at Sneasel. The dark ball hits Sneasel in the face. Sneasel jumps at Shuppet, "Use Metal claw!" Frost yells. Shupet dodges the attack just barely. "Use, Dark pulse!" I yell, Shuppet hits Sneasel in the face, knocking it out. "Sneasel is unable to battle, Anthrax wins!" The announcer calls. "I won?" I ask myself, "I won!" I say. I walk up to Frost and shake his hand. "You did good, Frost," I say, "Thanks, but my real name is Vincent, call me Vincent," Fro- I mean, Vincent says. "That move was powerful! Can we train together?" Vincent asks, "Sure, I don't see why not!" I say, a new friend, and, I won my first battle!

In the Mossdeep Pokemon training School, Sapphire

Man, that battle was intense, I tell myself, walking back to my classroom, I wonder if I can be that strong. I look to my side, "You're so cute!" I say, picking up Mudkip, who was walking next to me. I hug my buddy, "You will be strong, I can tell," I tell Mudkip, "Kip!" Mudkip squeaks, getting out of my arms and walking beside me again. Once I get to class Mudkip sits on my lap sleeping while I finish the day with some homework.

Later that day, Home, Sapphire

I get home and show mom Mudkip, who was sleeping in my backpack, "Isn't she the cutest!" I say, putting Mudkip down on the ground, I walk to my room and go to bed, Mudkip decides to sleep on my desk chair, so cute!

The Next Day, In the Mossdeep Pokemon training School, Urgron

I can't tell if Anthrax seems more tired, or more excited. "Hey, how are you doing?" I ask Anthrax during Math class. "Not great, Math sucks," Anthrax says. "No, like, other than in class, how are you feeling?" I ask him. "Kind of happy, during Pokemon training, me and, um, Frost, are going to train together," He says, finally, the answer I wanted. "Is that the guy who you battled yesterday?" I ask him, trying to verify that I know who he is. "Yep," He says almost instantly. Okay then, why are they training together, who knows? "Hey, you want to train together later?" I ask Sapphire. "Sure!" Sapphire says, looking down at Mudkip, "I just need to finish this stupid test," She says, Oh, right, Math test. I pick up a pencil and finish the Math test. "Okay, now you can go do some training," The teacher says, everybody gets up and runs out the door, it's time to go to the Mossdeep city gym!

On the beach, Sapphire

I look at the vast ocean, it's beautiful! "Hey, Sapphire, come over here!" I hear Urgron yell. I run over to him, he's looking at a small crab, awww, it's cute. I hold out my Pokedex. "Corphish the Red Crustation Pokemon, a water type, this pokemon catches prey with its sharp claws. It has no likes or dislikes when it comes to food - it will eat anything. This Pokemon has no trouble living in filthy water," It says. I tap its head. "Cor!" It screams and runs away. "Aww," I sadly say. I walk to the Mossdeep city gym entrance and start training with Urgron. "Use Water gun!" I yell. Mudkip shoots a bunch of water, but, for some reason, I don't feel like this is my goal, I know that Urgron and Antrax want to be strong, but I want to catch that Corphish I saw earlier, I want to catch all the cute and cool water types. After we were done training I went home and told my mom I wanted to go to the library. "Sure, go for it! I never thought you actually liked reading," My Mom chuckles. "Thanks!" I yell and run to the library. I wonder what Pokemon I should catch? I know I want that Corphish though! I open the doors to the library and look inside. "Woah!" I say, it's like my second time being here. "Do you know where I can find books about water type Pokemon?" I ask the librarian. "Over there," They say and points at a section of the library. "Thanks," I whisper and grab a few books and start reading. These Pokemon are so cute! I tell myself.
