"Wakey, wakey," Mum said while throwing open my curtains, "hurry up or you'll be late!"
"Mum it's only 6!" I protested.
"And? Your SATS are this week, now get up!" She nagged.
"Okay, okay.."Rubbing my eyes and yawning, I slipped on my rabbit slippers and reluctantly left my bed. I grimaced when I noticed my bedhead. Messy as ever. I picked up the hairbrush and hacked through the bush that had plonked itself on my head.
After getting dressed, I checked my phone.
It read:
Don't lose your 5 day streak! - Duolingo
13°c and rainy, don't forget to pack a coat! - Weather
And right at the end,
4 unread messages from Sam and Flora - WhatsApp
My eyes lit up a little; hopefully they were talking about something interesting!
I clicked on the notification and waited for it to load.Sam: Are you guys coming to school early for SATS?
Flora: I am if you are!
Flora: Can you give me a lift?
Sam: Yeah sureMy face fell a little. Nope, they were only making plans with eachother. Again.
It's fine though. I thought, Flora just wanted a lift, nothing else.
"Amber, come and get breakfast!"
my dad shouted from downstairs.
"Okay, down in a second!" I replied.
