I set off for school and clicked into Spotify. The Strokes 'The Adults are Talking' began playing. As I walked, I let the music transport me into another dimension, imagining what it would be like if I was the one playing the guitar instead of Mr Valensi. I could almost feel my hands gliding over the strings.
Eventually, I arrived at school. Seeing Sam's car already parked at school, I rushed inside, barely stopping when I almost bumped into an elderly woman.
"Sorry," I apologised.
I zoomed into the Year 8 exams meeting hall.
"Amber!" Sam's happy voice shouted.
"Hi guys!!" I said, folding Sam into a hug.
"Hello, Amber," Flora said.
"Did you hear, Olivia Rodrigo has released a new album, it's amazing!" Sammie gushed.
"To be honest, I think it's really good." Flora replied.
They began talking to eachother and I stood there, left out.
They don't mean to leave you out, they are just deep in the moment."Good morning everybody, we will now be splitting you all into groups. You will do your tests in these groups and will not leave them. Until exams are finished for the day, you will be separated from other groups to avoid swapping answers. You will now receive a list of the group of people you are with," Mr Matthews told all of us Year 8s.
I hope I'm in a group with Sam and Flora!Mr Mattews gave me my list, here's what it said:
• Maggie Wilson
• Rex Mcdonald
• Alexis Bright
• Lauren Smith
• Ben Blamesworth
• Sally Blake"Aww get in there, I'm with you Flora!" Sam exclaimed.
"Yes, I can't believe it!" Flora replied, "wait, what about Amber?".
"Oh, it's ok! exams are only in the morning anyway," I tried to sound positive.
"Come on girls, get into your groups!"
"Bye guys," I sighed.
They were already gone.
