"Please put your pens down and close your booklet," Mr Matthews ordered.
I sighed. I could feel my leg shaking under the desk. My heart raced. Who knew exams were so bad?
"You may now go to lunch, feel free to talk to your classmates," He said.I rushed outside, Hoping to see Sam and Flora. Not seeing them, I reached for my backpack, ready to grab my Warrior Cats book.
"Hey, Amber!" My friend Lauren had just left the classroom.
I turned around quickly.
She ran up to me, her auburn hair swaying in the wind.
"Oh, hello! How did you find the test?" I asked.
"It was awful, I didn't even finish it!" She said.
"Tell me about it!" I agreed.
"Amber, over here!" Someone said.
"Sam's calling you, I'll see you later!" She told me.
"Bye!"I rushed over to Sam and Flora, hugging them both.
"I'm so glad today's tests are over," Flora groaned.
"Ugh, tell me about it! How do they even expect us to know that?" Sam agreed.
"Atleast we've gotten the math tests out of the way now," I said.
"I suppose, we have reading tomorrow though, which is even worse!"The bell rang, telling us to go to the lunch hall.
"Save us seats?" Flora asked me (I was had my lunch but the others needed to grab theirs).
"Yeah, of course!" I replied.
"Cheers," Sam thanked.I grabbed my phone and opened Spotify. Ooh, a new recommended artist, I thought.
Here's what it said:ARTISTS FOR YOU:
Arctic Monkeys
The Arctic Monkeys are a recently formed band from Sheffield. British singer-songwriter, Alex Turner, Lead vocalist and guitarist, founded the band with fellow musicians, Matt Helders (drummer) and Andy Nicholson (bassist). They later introduced Jamie Cook to the band, making him the second guitarist to join Arctic Monkeys. Many believe this nervy, literate rock band may be a successor to the bands The Libertines and Oasis!
Their hit single, 'I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor', allowed them to rise to fame in early May, 2024.
Their name was created by Cook, derived from the term, 'White Monkeys', a derogatory term for someone from Northern England.
They sound interesting. I'll listen to them on the way home from school!
