Chapter 9 | His Secret

A bit of time had passed since the previous incident. The two grew closer every day, which made their friends happy. The whole friend group hung out often, during the week and on weekends. If they weren't at the park, they'd be at Cassie's parents' Gaming Room, where they'd spend hours at a time playing on the PS5s and chatting. Usually, Gianna and Markus would be playing games together, rarely making time for any of the others that wanted to play with or against them, which would annoy them sometimes but they let it slide since the entire idea was to get them together.

One specific day stuck out more than the rest. They were at the Gaming room, of course. Giana had just run off to the bathroom... that's what 4 glasses of iced tea does to you. The music was turned down, and she heard people chatting in the room just next to her. Apparently the walls were paper thin when she heard a familiar voice. It was Markus. He was telling someone something that would completely shock her.

"I really like her, man." He said.
"Tell HER that, not me!" Another familiar voice. This time, it was Mel's.
" How about you give me some advice?" Markus replied, almost as if ignoring her comment
."Specify advice. Because my advice is TO TELL HER STRAIGHT UP!" Mel said, almost a bit too loud.
"Ugh, none of that. Tell me how to act, what to say to her, and maybe even gift ideas!"
"Hmm, I'll consider it. I'll message you a list once we leave!" She said in a cheery tone.

The conversation ended. And it had left Gianna with her jaw on the floor!She couldn't believe her ears, was he that into her?! She left the bathroom after calming down, now trying to act as natural as possible, though, it was going to be hard...
