This is optional, but it's just a little bit of what I think about the characters. The story will probably feature some of these though, so it would help to read.

Dead poets society headcanons:

Charlie Dalton:

Flaming Bisexual. No one can convince me otherwise. Anyone he's friends with kind of knows, it's only confirmed to the people who asked (basically the entire dead poets society). Knows Neil is gay, has a feeling Todd is. Best friends with Knox, teases his the most. Doesn't read often, but when he does, it's normally something Neil told him to read. Used to let Neil rant about books, but noticed that Neil now rants to Todd. Very big shipper, ships the hell out of anyone he wants (he's pretty good at it too, has made a few couples in the past). Has never had a solid partner, doesn't like settling down. On the football team, and the rowing team. Asks Neil and Todd for anything that's going on. Finds it funny how bad Cameron wants to know the 'secrets', he doesn't know it's just gossip. Doesn't hate plaid. Is always fashionably late, he even sleeps late and wakes up late. Knows how to dress, gives advice to anyone who's looking for it. Oh, and a huge flirt.

Knox Overstreet:

Head over heels for Chris. Absolutely in love. Is a straight ally until he thinks about it, currently questioning. Him and Chris work out for a while, before she feels too guilty about cheating on Chet and breaks it off. He moves on, but doesn't get with anyone else. Only gets teased by Charlie really, but he doesn't hate it. Still crazy about love, half the poems he writes are about it. Great if you want romance recommendations, but he doesn't read much else (except poetry, but still about love). Actually remains good friends with Chris, who breaks up with Chet and finds someone new. Always knows what's going on from Charlie, who gets his information from other people. Can't cook aside from toast and cereal. Everyone kind of knows he's not quite straight, but no one minds at all.

Steven Meeks:

Very, very smart. Favours Pitts when studying, always builds stuff with him. Him and Pitts are pretty close, but there's nothing between them (not really). Has been paid to do homework, but eventually the others convinced him to say no sometimes, cause he was overworking himself. Still does it occasionally, but only accepts from certain people. Likes coffee and will drink it but never buys it for himself. Big crime reader, loves Sherlock Holmes and murder mystery books. Doesn't really like Cameron, only helps him study when he has to. Not on any sports teams. He wants to do fencing, but just doesn't. Doesn't actively try to get involved with gossip, but if you're talking, he'll listen. Can follow a recipe exactly how it's supposed to be, but the food will always turn out to be worse than he expected (really good). Super fast reader, like really fast. Somewhere on the ace spectrum, not sure where.

Gerard Pitts:

Best friends with Meeks! Does everything with him, builds stuff with him. Gets a bit of extra studying from Meeks, doesn't complain. Was one of the main people who stopped Meeks from burning himself out. Loves coffee, often buys it for him and Meeks. Will listen to Meeks rant about his books, actually likes it. Is on the football team, his biggest supporter is Meeks. Doesn't read much except for poetry, but he's a fast reader. Not a writer, but he likes looking at things from multiple perspectives. Doesn't like gossip, that's it. Can make decent breakfast food, but nothing else. Bi-curious.

Richard Cameron:

A bit unsure how to feel about Charlie, but he doesn't talk about it much. Has tried to talk to the others about it, but he's figured it out and is pretty cool with Charlie (basically, being bi doesn't matter much in his books anymore). Very, very straight. Pretends he likes strong coffee, but can only handle a latte. Doesn't read much, when he does it's only school assigned books. Not exceptionally smart, but he's stupidly good at chemistry (still not as good as Meeks). Wants to be on the football team but he's just bad. He's friends with the dead poets, but he isn't as much of a part as the group as everyone else (they all still love him in a funky way though). Always wanting to know stuff, but no one ever lets him in on it. Doesn't like plaid at all. Can't cook for shit, either.

Neil Perry:

He likes coffee, often buys some for himself and Todd. Fantasy reader, loves all kinds of non-fiction. Takes book recommendations from Meeks, Todd, and Knox. Gives recommendations to those three plus Charlie. Also loves poetry, a lot. Shakespeare nerd. Sweaters, lots of sweaters. They sometimes go missing and end up on Todd, which he doesn't mind. Stays up late, wakes up early. The glue of the dead poets. Likes football, but isn't on the team. He's gay but he's only out to Charlie. Has known for about a year. Neil always knows what's going on but gets a lot of stuff from Todd. Live, laugh, love carpe diem (and Todd).

Todd Anderson:

Likes coffee, often buys some for himself and Neil. Loves reading in general, whatever Neil likes to read and loves to write poetry (also a fast reader like Meeks). He writes more than the others, even when it's not for class. Steals Neil's sweaters. Neil's number one listener, loves sitting there and just listening to Neil talk. Goes to sleep early, wakes up early. He plays football and is good at it, also on the team, but wants to do a different sport. Just watches most of the time, knows whatever's going on. You wouldn't expect him to gossip, but he does because he just knows everything. Finds out he's gay when he figures out he likes Neil. Thinks he's wrong for being gay. In the closet to everyone. Hates the communal showers with every fiber of his being.
