Hello! This is the author of the original TBATE: Born as a god

I would like to apologize for all those I left hanging, I tried my hand at some other shit and that bored me so I dropped that too. Now, TBATE has gotten interesting again so I am back with the urge to write smth. My original ff was pretty bad tbh, so I'm rewriting it! I will be speedrunning through the first few chaps, not much will change there, just the wording and the rampant C+P i used to do.

A lot of things things will change in this version, so even if you've read the original, I think you should read this one

...

I saw a light. A glaring, bright light, constantly getting closer and closer. Was this an illusion? Was I dead?

I heard muffled voices of people talking, a woman screaming. I slowly gravitated towards the light, deciding to go along with it.

The voices became clearer, and I heard a middle aged man proclaim, "Congratulations Sir and Madam, he's a healthy boy."

...

2 days later

From my bedroom, I overheard my parents talking in the kitchen while they thought I was asleep.

"Rey, honey, don't you think Art is a little pale? I didn't mention it to the doctor because he didn't seem to think it was a big deal and because I thought that's just how babies are, but it's already been two days. Should we call the doctor back?"

"Hmm, I don't know. He looks healthy to me. He might just have naturally pale skin, so I don't see any reason to cause a fuss about it. If anything out of the ordinary happens, we can call the doctor back."

"Alright, I guess you're right. Now, go to sleep honey, you must be tired."

The reason I was awake was because there was a deep, dark red mass of something resembling Ki inside of my sternum. I seemed to be able to control it in a similar way, but I took it from an outside source unlike Ki. I needed to read about this as soon as possible.

...

1 year later

The mass, which was now a bright red color, was apparently called a mana core. It seemed that mana was this world's equivalent to Ki from my old world, but much stronger and more versatile. The core acted as a conductor of mana of sorts, allowing me to gather and use mana. It seemed that mine was very out of the ordinary, because I was born with one while regular children are supposed to awaken one at around 10 years of age.

...

18 months later

We were having dinner after my normal training, and my father sighed. "Honey, I think it's time we get art a proper mentor."

After a long discussion, my parents decided that they would be travelling to Xyrus with me, and since my father's old adventurer group was going to stop by, we would be going with them.

...

Adam asked, "Hey Reynolds, do you mind if I test little Art?"

Both my father and mother seemed at least a bit hesitant at first, but trusting their old comrade, my father just replied, "Alright, but be careful. I haven't had the chance to teach him how to properly fight yet. We've just been doing light strength and mana exercises 'til now."

Adam got up from his makeshift log seat and looked around until he found a short stick he felt satisfied with.

"Come here Kid. Haha, let's see what you're made of!"

I took out the wooden sword, which was given to my by my father for my third birthday, and the two of us relocated to the edge of the camp. Adam had found himself a decently sized stick, standing a few meters in front of me.

"You can at least reinforce your weapon with mana, right, genius?" Adam asked mockingly.

I didn't answer, instead, I shifted my feet to a better offensive position. I willed mana into my legs, shooting off towards Adam, taking us both aback by the sheer speed of my attack. I accidentally overshot due to never actually going all out before, so I plunged the sword into the ground and pivoted around, keeping a large chunk of my momentum.

I arrived in front of Adam, swinging my sword sideways at him before he even had a chance to react. At the last second, he finally seemed to realize that he would be in trouble if he didn't go all out. He suddenly filled his legs with all the mana he could muster up, and jumped over my slash.

I swiftly followed up, mirroring his movements. I swung at him, knowing that he wasn't able to dodge in mid-air. He put his stick in the path of my sword, uselessly hoping it would be enough to block it, but my sword effortlessly broke it into pieces, smashing right into Adam's stomach with a thud.

Oops. I accidentally went all out, now they're going to think I'm some sort of monster..

Adam fell on his butt and my mother ran towards me to check for any scrapes and bruises I could have gotten.

"Uhh, Alice, I think Adam needs the healing more than Art," Said my father, smiling. "Art is already a little monster, I think he might even be able to beat me!"

"How.. how did he do that?" said Adam, flabbergasted at what just happened. "Come on, kid! Spill it, how did you do that?" He asked me.

I put on the most innocent face I could, with my blonde hair partially covering my eyes. "Uhh, I dunno, I just put mana into my legs and arms and swung at you?" I lied.

"Yeah, right.." Adam scoffed in response.

So, we continued on our path towards Xyrus academy, when suddenly..

"BANDITS! PREPARE TO ENGAGE!"
