Burning Candle Cheolsoo (Joshua X Seungcheol)

Chapter 3

After their dinner, they went home. Joshua went to Seungwoo's room and tucked him in, Seungwoo soon fell asleep, Joshua smiled, giving Seungwoo a small kiss on the head as the little one was sleeping. He then went into their bedroom, where Seungcheol was.

"... Darling, can we talk?" He said, taking off his blazer, his voice was a bit shaky

"Yes sweetheart?" Seungcheol looked up from his phone

"... I... Uhm... I.. have something to say.." Joshua stumbled over his words, his mouth felt dry suddenly. "look...i know we love each other...but it just feels off these days..what am trying to say is, we're not working out"

"shua..where is all this coming from?.." Seungcheol wasn't ready to get upset yet, he wanted to hear the reason

"I just... feel like our relationship isn't going anywhere... And..." Joshua trailed off, looking down to avoid eye contact, tears threatened to spill out of his eyes

"we have 2 sons, you can't just end it all just like that" Seungcheol's voice broke slightly, his insides felt like it was tightening

" I know...but... we're hurting each other... I don't want to be married to someone who's always stressed out" He said, his voice becoming shaky. Seungwon woke up, and started crying

"I'll go check on him" Seungcheol sighed before walking to Jisoo, there was a huge weight on his chest, as if choosing a gift for Juin, who's birthday was coming wasn't worrying enough

Seungwon was still crying, as soon as he saw Seungcheol he reached out for him, he wanted to be held

"What's wrong my love?" Seungcheol asked softly picking him up and cradling him

"Want.. Daddy..." The little one said, still crying. His face was covered with tears, his nose was runny. It was clear the young boy had been crying for quite some time

"aww my baby" Seungcheol cuddled him and put him to sleep again

After managing to coax him to sleep, Seungcheol walked back into their room, Joshua was sitting on the bed with a few tears falling from his eyes. He looked so sad

Joshua wiped his tears, looking up to meet Seungcheol's gaze "... Are you mad at me?" He asked, he was genuinely curious about how he would react, he was half expecting Seungcheol to snap angrily at him

"I'm not mad, I'm just upset" Seungcheol said in a calm voice, no sign of anger

"... why?.. Because i want to take a break from our marriage and relationship?" Joshua asked, tilting his head slightly and looking up at him, his tone was calm, but he looked a lot sadder

"well yes.." Seungcheol nodded slightly, he doesn't understand what's happening, this all just seems like a fever dream

"Why?" Joshua asked, he tilted his head again, he looked like he was expecting an explanation "We're unhappy, I don't see why you're so upset over it" He added on. His tone had become slightly more cold at the last part

"You're unhappy, I'm not, I thought everything was fine between us" Seungcheol said..

"And what makes you think everything is fine?" A hint of annoyance was in his voice, it was noticeable how he was growing more and more frustrated "How can you think everything is fine? Do you remember anything pleasant that we did together recently?" His tone was now getting sharper

"we literally just came back from a dinner, yes I guess it was a bit rocky but I guess that's one of the cons of having children" Seungcheol said, holding back his tone, he doesn't wanna say anything he might regret later

"I suppose you are correct. Well done for figuring that one out on your own" Sarcasm practically dripped off of his voice, and so did the harshness. "However, we both knew it would be rocky, we both did. Do you remember how excited we were to start a family?" He said, his tone was softer than before, but it was now slightly bitter

"Obviously" Seungcheol said softly
