Chapter 5 - Nearly my Birthday!

I had just realized that it was April 20th. 6 days away from my birthday! I have nothing planned out for it though! Ill have to ask the boys for ideas. It was 2:00 in the afternoon and it was only Harry,Zayn & I at the house. Niall went out to get groceries and Louis & Liam went to sleepover at a friends. So I went to find the boys. They were both in Zayn's room watching TV.

"Hey guys!" I greeted "Hey" they both said with their mouths filled with popcorn. "I have to ask you guys for ideas for my birthday party!" I asked. They turned their attention to me. "Well I think we shouldn't really have a certain theme, more just of a, well party!" suggested Harry. Zayn nodded "Yeah I agree, I'll help out with invitations & planning." He offered. "And ill do the cooking!" Harry exclaimed! I smiled with glee, "Oh! Thanks guys! You will be such help!" They smiled & nodded then turned their attention back to the show, I began to walk out.. Before Harry called my name "Katrina! Wait!" I turned back into them. "Has.. Niall asked you any.. Questions.. Lately?" He asked hesitantly. "Ermmm.. Not really.. Why?" .. He sort of shook his head.. "Nevermind" he whispered. I began to stroll out of the room slowly, unsure of what to think. I'm basically sure Niall likes me as much as I like him, due to yesterday, and what Harry had just said now. I'm having extreme mixed emotions right now.

Niall's POV

I was walking down the aisles of the market. I told the boys I was grocery shopping but I was really trying to find the perfect gift for Katrina for when I ask her to be my girlfriend on her birthday in 6 days. It has to be absolutely perfect, just like her. I do know what she likes but I'm not sure of what she wants for her 17th birthday.

Last year I got her a necklace with her first initial on it. And she's worn it about everyday ever since. So if she liked that, I have to get her something better. So to help find something, I called Louis up to see what he thinks, I know he does t like talking about her, but around me, he isn't allowed to speak a bad word about her. The phone rang and rang until he finally picked up. "Hey Louis! I need your help! I need to find Katrina a birthday gift! Please help me!" He sort of sighed, you could hear the irritation in his tone. "Well when we were together, she always spoke about how she lived taking photos, and how she had a passion for photography, why don't you get her something to do with that?" That sparked a thought in my mind. I remembered how she was telling us how she really wanted this camera she had saw at Future Shop. "Oh yeah! Thanks Louis!" He mumbled then hung up. I drove over to Future Shop at the mall. I walked in to instantly find the Nikon Camera she wants. The price read $599.99. It was within my budget range, but I wouldn't mind if it even went over, I had to get her what she wanted.

I went to the counter and paid for the gift. Now I had to go to the dollar store and buy wrapping paper and a gift bag. I really hope she loves it.

Katrina's POV

Zayn and I had been making the invitations. He typed & printed them out, and I wrote the information. When we finished, we counted that there would be approximately 32 people attending, including the boys and depending on the people who aren't able to make it. Now we just had to put them in the mail. Zayn said he would bring them to the post office when he went to go to meet Perrie at Starbucks. Everything was working out perfectly so far.

As I was cleaning everything up, I heard Niall come home. I walked out to see him with a brightly colored bag, I couldn't really make out what it looked like because he put it behind him as soon as he realized I glanced at him. "What ya got there?" I asked. "Nothing!" He muttered with a nervous grin on his face. He then ran to his room without saying another word. *Thats was weird* I thought. I ignored that little scene and went on with my business.

Niall's POV

THAT WAS CLOSE! She nearly saw her gift bag! Sure, she wouldn't have known what it was, but I really want to surprise her. I looked over the gift and practised how I was going to ask her. I've known her for since we were about 12, and we've always been close friends, and I'm hoping she will be willing to be more than that.

Katrina's POV

It was 9:00pm and I wasn't sure of what to do, Niall was in his room & after what had happened, I think I should leave him to himself, Harry & Zayn decided to go to the theatre, and that leaves me by myself. So I decided to call over my friend, Sophie over. Our conversation was short, I asked her if she wanted to come over, I was just in the middle of my words when she shrieked 'YES!' then hung up. I'm hoping that means she's on her way..

I love Sophie and all but, she's kind of, a little, fan of the boys. But she promised she would keep her cool, but what bothers me a bit is that she has a HUGE crush on Louis, not that I would be jealous because he's not worth being jealous over, it's that I don't want to see her hurt, I know what kind of person he can be, and she is sensitive, I don't want her heart smashed. I've warned her but she says that she doesn't care. Whatever. Within 5 minutes, she rushed in through the door. "Hey Bestie!" she shouted. I nervously smiled. "Hey." I said. I noticed she peered around, as if she's looking for someone in particular. "You're outta luck Soph, Louis is at a friends house for the night." "Shoot!" She said as he snapped her fingers. I laughed.

I got a text from Niall saying "Whos here with you?" I smiled. He's always been shy, it's one of the things I like about him, he's just so cute! I texted him back telling him who it was. "Oh ok" he texted back. Although he still

didn't come out.

For the rest of the night, Sophie & I just ate snacks and had a scary movie marathon. In between we played truth or dare and made a few prank calls. It was a fun night for both of us.
