The sun warmly shone in through my window, my curtains slightly a flutter from the salty sea breeze that came as it pleased. My desk was unusually empty, where books and journals would be sprawled across, there was a white surface I hadn't seen in months. My room itself was similar, instead of a disarray of items, the entire room was spacious and well tidied, my casual clothes consisting of a pastel pink skirt, fish-net leggings, and a short sports top now lay neatly on my bed where my Buneary plush had been comfortably placed.
I slid on my new shoes, which were a gift from my closest friend in Paldea, over my white stockings, dusted off my Raboot sweater and went to admire my uniform in the mirror before a knock at my door caught my attention.
"Must be the Director, prompt as I expected."
I smiled, heading downstairs and opening the door to a white haired man, dressed in red-orange, one of my favorite colors, white slacks and dress shoes. He had a very calm demeanor with a look of abundant joy."Good morning, Director Clavell. Come inside."
I gestured to the quiet house."Thank you, Miss Hoshi. I am not here for such a long time, regrettably. I have some business with Miss Nemona in a few, so I'll be brief."
He started."Oh, actually, we can make our way over to her house then. I don't mind since I did want to walk to the campus grounds with her later, or more like she insisted on showing me there."
I smiled, grabbing my bag and my hat at the side of the door."Ah, one step ahead of me I see, and very well coordinated planning. I expect no less from our Blueberry Academy transfer."
He chuckled, opening the door once again.He held it open and I took one last look at my home away from home.
I have been here for a few weeks, but I didn't think I would leave so suddenly yet again. Moving from the city of Hammerlocke in Galar, to Blueberry Academy in Unova, and now here to Paldea, I certainly have done my fair share of traveling.
With a sigh, I locked the door and fixed my backpack, making way from Los Platos down to Poco Cabo lane, the Director talking to me as we walked,
"Now, I know you have had a team of your own back in Blueberry, but I would like to share three new Pokémon for you to choose from. Think of it as a Welcome Gift from us at Naranja Academy."
He smiled warmly, tossing three pokéballs outwards and showcasing three equally sweet Pokémon;
"There is Sprigatito, the grass cat pokemon. Fuecoco, the fire crocodile pokemon. And Quaxly, the water duck pokemon. Feel free to walk with us, you three, get to know our new friend here."The three Pokémon cried in excitement of a new face, wandering about as we made our way to Nemona's house. I clutched my bag's strap in slight pensiveness, I already had a starter of my own, a memory of Galar I wanted to grow alongside me in this new pathway. Its respected evolution, and champion since, safely and comfortably kept in my boxes for now until I was able to bring him out in battle again.
There was only one type I could rely on to keep him company, and perhaps share each other's interests to work together.
"Hola, Hoshi! Long time no see!"
Nemona's voice lifted my face from the ground, making me feel extremely at home as she ran up for a hug I haven't had in ages."Good to see you too, amiga. Thanks for recommending me to come study abroad."
I smiled at the black haired girl, her eyes shining with excitement."When Miss Nemona told us about your skills, we had no choice but to take her recommendation."
Director Clavell smiled warmly at the sight, the three Pokémon definitely more excited to know their potential trainer was kind and friendly.
