We walked down the lane to the Lighthouse where Nemona said the view was amazing from, training Fuecoco and Scorbunny on every Pokémon we came across. Some I caught and released promptly, allowing for data on my pokédex which Nemona helped update.
"Scorbun!"
"Coco!"
The little rabbit Pokémon enjoying the wide area with crisp air, Fuecoco behind him as he happily admired the sea from a good height."Careful not to play so close to the edge, you could fall down."
I warned, Scorbunny waving a paw in reassurance."Seems Scorbunny knows how to handle himself pretty well."
Nemona chuckled, watching the Pokémon frolic freely and taking her Rotom phone out, took a picture,
"This is definitely going for the scrapbooks."Giiaaahhhh
The ground shook slightly and we were thrown off guard from the sudden change in atmosphere. My heart picked up the pace as my once calm vision of Paldea was changed.
"I thought Paldea didn't have dynamax hot spots?!"
I gulped, the similar feeling making my stomach sink."We don't! This must be a Pokémon's cry. Must be a pretty big one too from the sound of it. Let's find it and see if it needs help!"
Scorbunny walked lightly backwards, Fuecoco lingering by the edges as we looked about.
"Fueco?"
He pointed downwards, the three of us walking to the slope and seeing a large, red Pokémon on the shore. Taking out two Poké balls and returning the Pokémon to them."Scorbunny, Fuecoco, return. I can't have you two in danger. Just what is that?"
There were two Houndours trying to rile it up, likely assuming it was trespassing but couldn't move from possible injuries.
"Grrr!"
"Baow-Aou!"The red Pokémon lifted it head, and shook the ground with one loud roar,
"Ah-giiiiYAAAHH!"I stumbled at the shaking of the cliff, gasping in shock as the ground gave way and I was sent tumbling downwards. I took out Rotom whom squeaked in reply from the squeezing I gave its sides, and gently floated downwards.
Cautiously, I walked over to the Pokémon, kneeling down towards it as the two Houndours ran off with a yelp."Are you okay?"
I observed the giant from a small distance. It looked upwards, its stomach growling loudly, an obvious sign it was hungry.
I hesitated, normally I didn't pack much with me, and I tossed the food from my fridge a day ago. ... Wait.
I dug into my bag, taking out two containers; one had what was leftover curry from my last bottle of gigantamax and sausage curry mix. I opened the lid and slowly offered it to the Pokémon.
"Would this help?"
I asked quietly, watching as he sniffed it and placed its head back down."Not a fan, huh? It'd make sense since it's not regional. Hmmmm..."
I closed the container and placed it back in my bag, opening the other. It was meant to be a sandwich with items recommended by the locals to try; the bread was a Paldean staple, springy and soft on the inside with a crunchy exterior. The fillings were simple; mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, three leaves of lettuce, prosciutto, ham, tomatoes, bell peppers and a pinch of ground pepper.
I sighed at the idea of having to part with it after not being able to try it first, but this wasn't a small matter. This Pokémon must have been starving on the beach for a long period of time, what was one replaceable sandwich to the life of someone in need?
