"Hey, aren't you the wonder kid, Gaege Gibson, right? Heard you're pretty good." Eddie asked.
"Who told you? The government? The Pentagon? Cause they've been tracking me. I'm close so close to figuring out the secret of the Bermuda Triangle. This close." Gaege said, gesturing that he was very close to reaching his goal.
"Wow. You don't have any friends, do you?" Grant asked, the trio pitied the boy.
"No. Just my mom and my dad." Gaege said, gesturing toward his parents, who were sitting on stools in the corner, holding a bag lunch and six-pack of Yoo-hoo. His mom excitedly waves at him along with the drink while his dad slightly waves at him with a loving smile on his face.
"Well, you can hang out with us too," Eddie said as he offered a hand for a handshake. Gaege smiled and then they shook hands.
Sounds of cheering and camera clicking suddenly erupted by the hall's front door. Joshua Wanders has arrived. He is dressed in white shorts with black camo skin-tight pants under it and a Gengar dress shirt, and is flanked by two hot Y2K 90's looking girls in dark blue jeans; their shirts identify them as the GAMER GIRLZ.
"What's up geeks and losers? They call me the Flash because my hands are the fastest in the world, and I will also speed through all my competitors' slow-ass moves."
Josh saunters over towards Eddie.
"You must be the local talent. If this were an ugly contest, I'd be in trouble." Josh continued.
"At least we didn't make up our own name off from a popular comic, Flash Faker."
"Who cares? It's mine now!" Josh said. Both of them start to glare at each other. Grant was about to break them off when an MC stepped onto the stage.
"Welcome, gamers, to the First Annual World Championships. We have representatives here from the Guinness Book of World Records, as well as NASA, who will be videotaping tonight's competition of 2005's news events and popular culture. That videotape will be placed in an orbiter that will be launched out into the solar system to search for proof of Extra-Terrestrial life."
The audiences that attended the event applauded and cheered, impressed. Josh makes the "neck-cutting" gesture to Eddie as he walks away. Eddie shakes his head in disgust. Gaege, nervous, looks like he is going to shit himself as they head to the games. Grant and Gabby cheer them on.
The other signed-up gamers, mostly teen boys but a punk chick and some weird middle-aged man mixed in also step into their games and start playing. It's like the Olympics as they all furiously tap the buttons and move the joysticks of the games of their choice, with total seriousness as the judges watch all the contestants.
Eddie plays Breakout as Grant and Gabby cheer him on.
Gaege is sweating profusely while playing Galaga. His dad is on his left, cheering him on while wiping the sweat off Gaege's forehead from time to time while his mom is on his right, holding up a Yoo-Hoo for him to sip from.
Josh is kissing one of the Gamer Girlz as he annihilates Pac-Man. He lowers his sunglasses over his eyes, then really starts kicking ass.
Moments later, the MC got on the stage and then addressed the crowd dramatically.
"Ladies and gentlemen, what an evening we've had here; six new record sets, three new world record sets, and now, when the smoke clears, we have... a tie! 259 points for your new Pac-Man world champion... The Flash, Joshua Wanders!!" The audiences give a round of applause as Josh walks up the stage and stands beside the MC proudly with something covered in black cloth behind him.
