Y/N's heart pounded in her chest as the hand clamped over her mouth, silencing the scream that threatened to escape. She struggled against the firm grip, but it was no use—the figure dragging her deeper into the shadows was strong, unyielding. Panic surged through her veins as she was pulled into the hallway, the faint light from the room disappearing behind her.

Her mind raced. Who was this? Why was this happening? The cold fingers pressing into her skin sent shivers down her spine, and she fought desperately to free herself. But the more she struggled, the tighter the grip became.

They moved quickly through the mansion's dark corridors, twisting and turning until Y/N lost all sense of direction. She was trapped, helpless, with no idea where she was being taken. Her thoughts screamed for Jungkook, but even in the fear that consumed her, she couldn't be sure if she wanted him to come.

Would he even care?

Her captor dragged her into a dimly lit room, throwing her to the floor. Y/N gasped, scrambling to her knees, only to be met with the cold, emotionless eyes of a man standing over her. He was tall, his face partially hidden by shadows, but the malice in his gaze was unmistakable.

"You shouldn't have come here," the man said, his voice low and threatening.

Y/N's breath hitched. Her chest tightened as fear settled deep in her bones. "Who are you?" she managed to choke out, her voice trembling.

The man didn't answer. Instead, he crouched down in front of her, his fingers tracing the side of her face, sending a wave of nausea through her. "You think you're safe here, don't you? That marrying him will protect you."

Her heart stopped. "What—what do you want?" she stammered, trying to push herself away from him.

His lips curled into a chilling smile. "You're just another piece in the game. And tonight... you're going to learn how little control you really have."

The words sent a cold chill down her spine, but before the man could say another word, the door flew open with a force that rattled the room. Y/N's head whipped toward the entrance, her eyes widening in shock as Jungkook stormed in, his face a mask of fury.

"Get away from her," Jungkook's voice was dark, filled with a dangerous intensity she hadn't heard before.

The man stood, squaring his shoulders as he faced Jungkook. "So, the prince comes to the rescue," he sneered. "But how long can you keep her safe, Jungkook? She's already too deep in your world."

Jungkook's jaw clenched, his eyes narrowing. "You'll regret this."

The man chuckled darkly. "You think this is about me? You're fooling yourself if you think she's safe just because you're standing here."

Without warning, Jungkook lunged at the man. The room exploded into chaos as the two clashed—Jungkook's movements were swift and precise, fueled by a deadly precision that Y/N had never seen before. She watched, frozen in place, as Jungkook tackled the man to the ground, pinning him down with ease.

There was a darkness in Jungkook's eyes—a ruthless, cold determination that sent a shiver down her spine. He pressed his forearm against the man's throat, cutting off his air supply as the man gasped for breath, his hands clawing at Jungkook's arm.

"You don't touch what's mine," Jungkook growled, his voice low and dangerous.

The man's face turned red, his breaths coming in short, labored gasps. Y/N could see the life slowly draining from his eyes as Jungkook applied more pressure. And for a moment, she feared he would kill him right there, without hesitation, without remorse.

But then, just as suddenly, Jungkook released him, stepping back as the man collapsed to the ground, coughing and wheezing. Y/N's chest tightened as she watched the scene unfold, her mind struggling to comprehend what had just happened.

Without another word, Jungkook grabbed Y/N's hand, pulling her to her feet. His touch was firm, but not harsh, as he guided her out of the room, away from the chaos, away from the man who had tried to drag her into the darkness.

They didn't stop until they reached her room, the door slamming shut behind them. Y/N's pulse raced as she turned to face Jungkook, her voice trembling with confusion and fear.

"Jungkook, what... what just happened? Who was that? Why—"

"It doesn't matter," Jungkook cut her off, his voice cold and detached, the emotion from moments ago seemingly vanished. His face was unreadable, a mask of indifference that she couldn't break through. "Just stay out of it, Y/N. This is my world. You don't belong in it."

Her chest tightened at his words. The distance between them, both physically and emotionally, felt unbearable. "But I'm your wife," she whispered, her voice cracking with the weight of the truth. "I'm already part of it."

Jungkook's eyes darkened, and for a moment, Y/N thought she saw a flicker of something—regret? Pain?—but it was gone just as quickly as it appeared.

"Go to bed," he ordered, his tone leaving no room for argument. "And don't come near that part of the house again."

Y/N stood there, staring at him as he turned his back to her, his broad shoulders tense as he walked away, disappearing into the shadows of the hallway. Her heart ached with a mix of fear, confusion, and something else she couldn't quite name.

The door clicked shut behind him, and Y/N was left alone, the silence of the room pressing down on her. She sank onto the bed, her mind swirling with questions, with doubts, with the terrifying realization that she had married a man she barely knew—a man with secrets darker than she could have ever imagined.

And yet, despite the fear that gnawed at her, there was a part of her that wanted to know more, wanted to uncover the truth behind the man she was bound to for the rest of her life.

But at what cost?

The room felt colder without him, and as Y/N sat in the silence, she couldn't shake the feeling that this was only the beginning. Whatever darkness lived within Jungkook was far from over. And for reasons she didn't fully understand, she was drawn to it, even as it threatened to consume her.
