Harry watched from outside the room as the doctor and nurse took out the breathing tubes from Serene's nose, unplugging a chord. {I've no idea how do they remove life support so just imagine. sorry patorry}
Everyone was numb. No more crying. They all sat there staring into space. It was as if someone sucked all the emotions out of them.
"Harry," Lou {Teasdale not Louis} said quietly, putting a hand on Harry's shoulder from behind. "Do you want to go home?"
Harry shook his head, "No. I'm not leaving till she's out of here." He replied, his voice hoarse and his eyes never leaving Serene from outside the door.
Lou nodded before giving him a pat on the back, "Stay strong, Harry. Stay strong for Serene." she waited for a reply that never came, sighed and went to sit beside Tom.
Harry watched in confusion as he saw the doctor talk to the nurses then looking at Serene confusingly. He watched as the doctor laughed, clearly in surprise.
"What's happening?" Zayn asked as he stood beside Harry having to witness what was taking place inside the room.
"I don't know."
"Here they come." Zayn said quietly before Harry and him backed slightly from the door to give room to the doctor and 2 nurses who opened the door.
"Good news," The doctor grinned. It seemed as if he was a part of the family, as if he had known Serene or as if he went through the same experience. "I-I honestly think this is a miracle. We all thought or even knew that her brain was dead. We removed the life support and-Serene's still breathing."
"Oh my God!" Everyone sighed in relief, all hugging the one beside them. The hallway erupted in laughter of relief.
"And what I'm trying to say is, there's a possibility for Serene to wake up. Hopefully in the next couple of days, if not then I'm sorry to tell you she might pass away. But let's focus on the fact that she's now breathing and can even wake up any minute now. Also, Ms. Colt can hear you, I'm sure she must've heard what all of you said earlier. She's a miracle." The doctor smiled, "Now if you will excuse me, I have to go and I'll come in every hour to check up on her."
"My baby," Mary breathed out in relief as happy tears rolled down, a grin on her face.
Harry grinned before he went into the room and climbed on her bed, laying down beside her as he propped his head against his palm and looked at her in pure delight. "So you can hear me now? You heard how much I love you. You heard it all?"
"Was that a prank? Huh? Did you prank us you little shit?" Ashton giggled as he kissed Serene's forehead, making everyone laugh.
"We're closer now. Just wake up, sweetheart." Dan said as he side hugged Mary who was grinning and thanking God under her breath.
"Umm, guys," Hannah smiled as she looked at everyone in the room, all happy. "It's been so long since I've seen you happy and I just wanted to say that, Serene's a tough girl and I just hope you all stay this happy. We've been through an awful time and hopefully it stays in the past."
"Aww, Hannah." Michael cooed as he wrapped his arm around Hannah's shoulders supportively.
"Hopefully it does, Hannah." Gemma replied on everyone's behalf.
