The chiming of the doors of the Goddess' quarters, the sound a sudden chaos amidst the haze of darkness and quiet that was spread among the ample room, had Hecate looking up from amidst her books.

"My Lady! The Muse, Calliope, is headed here!" The little satyr cried in a hurry, running towards the Goddess and barely able to stop in time of trampling her legs.

The satyr's little hooves slipped and her cute hands had to grab for Hecate's black robes so she wouldn't fall. Hecate looked down.

"Storia, if I didn't know Calliope so well I would think she was about to rain fire upon us all."

Hecate smiled coldly at the little satyr, moving to her preferred seat near the window that overlooked the gardens of her abode, the moon high in the sky.

"Well... oh, dear." Storia was breathless and it took her a small moment for her to regain her composure "Well, the nymphs said she brings news from the human realm. And I heard Hermes say Calliope has been there for a few years now."

"It isn't unheard of, Storia- "

"She's brought a chariot, my lady! It seems Apollo has lent her his chariot so she could get to you faster!"

Hecate raised an eyebrow, ignoring with annoyance how the satyr had interrupted her. But Storia's words bothered her. Apollo had lent his beloved chariot to Calliope? A mere Muse? Interesting.

The pantheon trembled with the ruckus that formed at the front. Hecate heard the sound of horses, the satyrs and nymphs mumbling and gasping at the unexpected visit.

The Goddess sighed.

"Storia. I'd like a meal to be served in my room. I want it done by the time I'm done with Calliope."

Storia flushed tremendously with fluster, looking around and then rushing to take care of her task.

Hecate left her quarters with no hurry, reaching the top of the stairs and looking down at the large entrance. The satyrs were already making their way up the stairs, thinking Hecate didn't already know someone was at her door.

"My Lady, the Muse Calliope- "

"I can see that. Thank you. Kindly go help Storia with my meal, now. One of you, could you bring us wine?" Hecate looked down at Calliope, who was adjusting her blue robe on her shoulder "I have a feeling it will be a long conversation."

The satyrs scattered and moved to their assigned posts, bowing to Hecate as she walked by. Calliope curtsied, her movement an elegant gesture with her hands.

"For Apollo to give you his chariot something must be truly urgent, dear Calliope. What bothers you?" Hecate treaded carefully, moving past the Muse and now going towards the seating area in her garden.

Calliope quietly followed, her steps graceful on the marble floorings of the pantheon. The Muse seemed to be keeping her posture with much strain, her brows creased and eyes serious with a glint Hecate had yet to see.

The Muses were no longer just the entertainers of the Olympus. Their father had made sure of it. And with how much leeway they got for traveling, or living, in the human world, Hecate strongly believed Zeus was up to something.

Well, when the insufferable God wasn't in between a woman's legs, he was usually plotting something against some other God that didn't fit his needs.

"My lady, I bring news from the human realm. Something... has happened."
