HokageTower
Sasuke entered the Hokage Tower with a determined stride, his dark cloak billowing behind him. His expression was as stoic as ever, betraying little of his emotions. As he approached Kakashi's office, memories of past missions flooded his mind, reminding him of the challenges he had faced and the battles he had fought. Knocking lightly on the door, Sasuke awaited permission to enter. He knew that his presence in the village still stirred mixed feelings among its inhabitants, but he was determined to fulfill his duties and prove himself worthy of redemption.
"Enter," Kakashi beckoned.
Sasuke complied, stepping into the room. "Greetings, Sasuke," Kakashi greeted.
"Hello, Kakashi-sensei," Sasuke replied respectfully.
The conversation flowed between them. Kakashi inquired about Sasuke's recent missions, subtly gauging if his skills were being used for good. Sasuke, ever guarded, assured him of his loyalty to Konoha. Kakashi acknowledged Sasuke's long journey since their Team 7 days, a hint of pride in his voice. Sasuke offered a curt nod, a silent admission of his growth.
The conversation then shifted to Sasuke's reintegration. "And how are you adjusting to life back in the village?" Kakashi asked gently.
Sasuke hesitated, the question hitting a nerve. "It's... been an adjustment, but I'm getting used to it," he finally admitted.
Kakashi, sensing Sasuke's struggle, offered a supportive hand. "If you ever need guidance or support, don't hesitate to ask. You're not alone, Sasuke."
Sasuke paused, surprised by the unexpected warmth. After a moment, he met Kakashi's gaze and nodded slightly. "Thank you, Kakashi-sensei. I appreciate that."
"No problem," Kakashi replied, his eye crinkling under his mask. "Just remember, the village is here for you, Sasuke."
Sasuke stared out the window momentarily, a flicker of emotion crossing his face. "Understood," he finally said, his voice softer than usual. The path to redemption wouldn't be easy, but with Kakashi's support, he could regain his place in the village.
Exiting the Hokage's office, Sasuke felt drawn towards his former teammates. Stepping into the sunlight, he was met with an unexpected sight. Atop the monument dedicated to the Fourth Hokage sat Naruto, his expression carrying a weight of melancholy.
Ascending to the top, Sasuke called out, "Naruto," but received no response. He approached Naruto and gently tapped on his shoulder, seeking his attention.
Naruto turned towards Sasuke, his eyes devoid of their usual warmth and enthusiasm. Sasuke couldn't help but notice the absence of emotion in Naruto's gaze. Concern etched on his features, Sasuke asked, "What's wrong, Naruto?"
Naruto recounted the events to Sasuke, detailing the heart-wrenching betrayal he had experienced.
They lapsed into a heavy silence, the weight of Naruto's words hanging between them. After a moment, Sasuke broke the silence, his voice laced with disbelief, "So what are you going to do now?" He found it hard to reconcile the image of the usually reserved Hinata with the person Naruto described.
Naruto's response was flat, lacking his usual vibrancy, "Sasuke, I want—no, I need to leave." His words carried an unusual weight, unsettling Sasuke.
Sasuke, though not entirely surprised, offered, "Do you want me to inform Kakashi that you're leaving?"
"No, Sasuke. I'm leaving the world; could you open a portal and transport me to another world so I can think? On what to do next," Naruto requested, turning to face Sasuke solemnly.
