9-Disaster Strikes

(AN. Kinda long chapter!)

This was it. The day we met most of our favourite youtubers! We woke up at eight and got dressed and had breakfast in the restaurant. I had pancakes with fruit and cream with a fruit smoothie👌🏻. When we were finally ready to go we still had an hour before the official meet ups started so Joe and Caspar invited us to hang with them for an hour. Best. Youtubers. Ever.
So our first meet up was Dan and Phil. Thankfully we had VIP tickets from the competition we won so we were one of the first people and we didn't have to wait in the long lines.
Since it was such a nice day they had the meet up outside, but it was 90 degrees Fahrenheit!
'We would have literally been roasted with our fair Irish skin if we had to wait an hour or two' I thought to myself.
We went on our phones just to pass the time. Jay's mom sent her a selfie of our two families at the waterpark😂 and we started talking to these two lovely girls called Alexis and Autumn, name goals, am I right? They were so nice and genuine and funny and pretty, the list goes on. We exchanged Apple ID's and snapchat and other social media names so we could keep in touch as they lived here in LA. Lucky biatches!
So we were still waiting and all of us were sitting on the ground on our phones and what not. I was on Instagram, thankful for the free wifi in the VidCon area. I was flicking through my feed when I saw Zoella's most recent post. It was a selfie of her and Alfie at VidCon! But what really struck me was how familiar the background was. So I screenshot it and zoomed into the pic when I saw the back of Jay's head in it and a corner of Alexis' arm! So I looked around wildly and I saw them! Just a few meters away Zoella and Pointlessblog had a shared meet up! I stood up really quickly when suddenly all the blood rushed to my head. I felt very faint and I, kind of, fell. But before I felt the hard thud of concrete below me, I was caught by someone. That someone was Dan Howell. He asked me if I was okay. Then I fainted for real.

While I was unconscious I had a dream, a really weird dream. My family and Jay's family were in it, they were all asleep. Then I read someone singing a continuous song. 'La la la, la la, la la la la la la la.' It was creepy, but that was the tip of the iceberg, while that song was being sung people were screaming. Not just 'a jump scare from five nights at freddy's' scream, but like, intense screaming. Whoever was screaming was in real trouble.

I awoke, opened my eyes and Dan Howell, Phil Lester, Jay, Alexis and Autumn were staring down at me with concerned faces. 'You alright?' Phil said with his British accent. 'Ya ya I'm fine, it happens sometimes' I assured. 'Orthostatic hypotension' Dan said. I love it when he talks science. 'Um, what?' said Jay, Phil, Alexis and Autumn. 'It's what happened to you, did you feel light headed after you stood up?' Dan asked. 'Ya' I replied. 'Okay okay Mr.Howell this is VidCon not science class!' Phil said. 'The important thing is that she's alright'. 'She has a name you know' I said sarcastically. Dan and Phil smiled. 'And what would that name be?' Phil asked. 'Madison, or Maddie for short' I replied.
After, we talked about everything with them, their lives as youtubers, funny stories, their radio show, we took loads of pictures with them and they even followed us all on Instagram! The best thing was that they actually seemed genuinely interested in the things we all had to say, and they took a particular interest in Jay - not in a creepy way, just they really seemed fond of her and the jokes she made and the stories she told. We spent ages with them but it was okay because VIP meet and greets could go on much longer than regular ones. After our turn was up, I was still in shock that we just laughed and joked and talked with Danisnotonfire and AmazingPhil. 'They were always just pixels on a screen, and we actually met them' said Jay.
We took a quick break just to get some lunch to take away and some water, then we made our way to Zalfie's shared meet and greet and proceeded to do the same thing in the last waiting line - talk, eat and go on our phones. The line was the same as the last - slow, even with our VIP passes. I decided to call my brother Frank and tell him about the meet up but he didn't answer. 'He's probably in the water' I thought. But I couldn't get the thought of the creepy dream I had out of my head. We were next in line so I pushed it out of my thoughts. We greeted Zoe and Alfie and I somehow managed not to faint😂. We laughed and joked and took pictures until sadly our time was up.
Right before we said goodbye, two grave-looking police officers approached us and asked if we were Madison Avery and Jay Crean. They told us our families were involved in a terrible car crash and they haven't found any survivors yet.
