The beginning for everything that will happen in the future

It was a summer break currently in Japan for all children. The weather was warm, there was no rain, no cold weather, just a bright shining sun and good weather that gave every child the opportunity to go outside and enjoy life with their friends

Every where you go, you see many children playing outside or simply enjoying the beauty of life. These moments feel like they were a dream, a trace where there is no pain, no problems, only peace and joy. That was no different for you and mikey. The moment you both drifted into summer break after a long year of school, you went out on many adventures with mikey and his friends.

From morning to evening, you were out with them, enjoying life to it's fullest. At the beginning, your parents were often worried that you were away for such a long time, but they knew they could trust mikey and his friends, which is why you were allowed to go everywhere with them. Even if they are a bunch of idiots, you dearly adored them. If one of you is in trouble, the group will always stick together and help the other. Because of them, you knew the true beauty of this world. With them, you can embrace it all.

The only person who understands you completely is Mikey. He is the one who walked with you through thin and thick. He is your safe haven, and you're his. He is you, but only in the opposite gender. You have a binding, you have with no one else. This is only one of the reasons you adore him. He is your dearest friend, and you don't want to lose him at any cost.

"Pssstt Y/n, are you asleep?" Mikey whispered to you from the other bed

"After I heard your loud voice, no, I'm not."
You whispered back with a hint of teasing in it. Sometimes, you can go on each other's nerves and play the victim, but that's just your way of showing care for each other.

You both had the usual sleepovers you often have at the weekends. It was already midnight.

"Oh, come on, I'm not even that loud,"
he whispered with a pouty face, and he crossed his arms, rolling over to the other side and turning his back to you. You sighed and rolled your eyes playfully, but you looked curious now why he woke you up. Some short moments later, you heard a small chuckle, and he turned back to see you.

"Do you want to sneak out? I heard that today's night will be beautiful, because the sky would be clear and it's full moon"
He said with an excited and bright expression on his face. His eyes were literally shining from excitement.

A bright smile plastered on your face. That was a habit of you both, going out in the middle of the night watching the sky, adoring its beauty. Even though you and him got into trouble several times after sneaking out. Mikey was family to your parents, and they treated him like he was a part of it. The funny thing was that you and him hear very often from both family sides that one day you both would date, but you both simply say the usual quote: love is disgusting. No adult took it seriously and just laughed about it.

"That you ask is a shame, you know I never say no to watching the sky!"
you said with a voice filled with excitement, but you didn't notice that you said it a bit too loud, which mikey immediately placed a finger in front of your lips, shutting you up.

"Shh, don't be too loud, you moron."
Mikey said with a quiet laughter, shaking his head with a smile on his face as he took his finger away from your lips

"Sorry."
A light pink colour was spreading over your cheeks, and with a sheepish smile, you scratched the back of your neck.

"Yeah, yeah, now come on, let's go! Hopefully, your parents don't catch us, or we are getting our ass whooped again. "
After saying this, Mikey got out of bed quietly, and he put his socks and shoes on.

"Well, hopefully not, or we can listen to a whole roman again."
As you spoke, you did the same as Mikey. You put your socks and shoes on. You both know what happens if you get caught. It's a regular thing now.

Hearing your words, Mikey simply chuckled softly and rolled his eyes. It was an annoying thing to hear both of your parents scolding you and him because you sneaked out again. Even though it's annoying, you still do it over and over again. It's always worth it. After a big scolding, you both have a good laugh whenever you see the annoyed and mad expressions on your families.

"I'm ready. Let's go!"
With that, you both slowly started making your way to your window, opening it. You immediately felt the pleasant breeze of a warm summer night. Quietly, you both climbed out of the window, and after you both were on the ground in your garden, you started to run away with Mikey. Some short moments of running, you and him stopped in front of some garages, with a smirk on both of your faces he started to climb the tree that we next to the garage. He was the first one to climb, and after he was on the garage roof, you climbed after him.

The moment you both were on the garage roof and looked up the sky, it felt like time stopped for both of you. Sitting down on the roof, you both watched the night sky. The sky was filled with uncountable numbers of stars. It was a full moon, which added to the beauty of ethereal sight.

From the corner of your eyes, you saw Mikeys expression. The excitement, joy, and peace were visible on his face. His eyes were shining as the moonlight gently glowed on us.

Sometimes, it's the little things in life that bring happiness to someone.

"It's mesmerising and beautiful," you mumbled as you were enchanted by the sight in front of you. A bright and soft smile plastered on your face as you spent this peaceful moment with your best friend.

There was something you didn't realise, but Mikey was looking in your direction with a soft smile on his face. His happiness was not only these small yet meaningful moments with you. You were a part of his happiness. With a sigh of contentment, he looked back up to the sky.

"You know, I have many dreams and wishes. I dream about us all having an easy and joyful life's. Sometimes, I'm a bit fearful of the future, but as long as I have you and the others, I feel safer, "
Mikey spoke with a low and quiet voice, not wanting to disturb the quiet and peaceful moment with a loud noise.

"I understand that feeling, Mikey, but don't worry, me and the others will always support you, and no matter what happens in the future, we always stick together!"
You answered back with a soft and gentle smile on your face as you turned to Mikey. The moonlight illuminated you both, which added to the moment you both have. Even if you both don't understand it yet, there is more to the friendship you both have, but as children, you both don't think about these silly lovely things.

These words meant to Mikey a lot more than you thought. His eyes widened slightly, and he turned his face to your direction, meeting your soft smile that was one of the most beautiful traits you possess. He reflected on your smile.

"Let's promise something to each other, no matter how hard life will get, we will never give up, but stay strong and continue to live life"
Mikey said with a gentle and enthusiastic response as he moved his pinky finger to your direction so that you promise this to him. A joyful laughter escaped your lips, and you interlocked your pinky finger with his.

"I promise you that no matter what happens, we will always have each other."
With that, you both laughed and laid down on the roof, watching the night sky and talking about many things that made you both have a good laugh. It was a moment you both embraced dearly. It gave a feeling that you both were dreaming this moment even though it's real.

You both down know it yet, but this promise will have a much deeper meaning in the future. This is now only a silly promise between two childhood best friends, but the meaning of it will change the older you and him get.
