Chapter 7 amid the ruins part 2

Clem and Kenny leave the tent. Rebecca holds onto her stomach and is supported by Bonnie.
Mike:Are you okay?
Lee:How does it feel?
Rebecca: It feels wet, that's how it feels!
Clem:What's going on?
Shawn: Rebecca's water broke!
Jane: Oh, christ.
Rebecca:We should, I don't know what we should do.
Luke:Aw, fuck!
Otis:That means the baby's coming, right?
Shawn: Yes.
Bonnie: Kenny, thank god.
Bonnie:What do we do?
Kenny: Alright.
Kenny:Alright, gimme a second.
Luke:No way can rebecca travel like this.
Jane: He's right.
Jane: She's gonna make a lot of noise. Jane:They'll be able to smell her, too. Jane:Now you've got no choice but to lock down and ride it out.
Clem:What should we do first, kenny?
Lee: Kenny?
Lee:Come on.
Lee:You gotta focus.
Kenny: Right, right.
Kenny: Sorry.
Kenny:Clean water, for one thing.
Kenny:And blankets.
Bonnie:And we gotta get outta this damn cold, too.
Mike:That map shows a couple of buildings nearby.
Ben:Maybe one of them could do the trick?
Bonnie looks at the sign saying, "parker's run memorial musem, 1.2 miles".
Bonnie:That museum seems like it could be a good start.
Bonnie: I'll go.
Otis: Me too.
Luke: Good idea.
Luke: Mike, think you could go with them?
Mike: Sure thing.
Jane:I'll check the building by the river.
Luke: Okay, then.
Luke: Kenny, you, uh, you stick with rebecca.
Luke: Ben,shawn,and lee stay with rebecca, too.
Luke:And I will check the perimeter for walkers.
Luke: Sarah?
Luke: Sarah.
Luke:You just stay here with rebecca, kenny,lee,ben,and shawn, okay?
Bonnie: Clem.
Clem walks up to Bonnie.
Bonnie:I know it must've been hard, but thank you for talking to kenny.
Bonnie:I'd love for you to give me,mike,and otis a hand looking at the museum, but I was thinking.
Bonnie:How do we know jane ain't just gonna take off?
Bonnie:Maybe you should go with her.
Bonnie:Make sure she comes back.
Luke:What do you mean by that?
Bonnie:Y'know, she doesn't seem to like being around people much.
Bonnie:And she volunteered to head off awful fast.
Clem:She's helped us so far.
Bonnie:Yeah, no, you're right.
Bonnie:Maybe it's nothing.
Bonnie:Just something to think about.
Luke turns to the rest of the group.
Luke:Okay, we're looking for warm blankets, clean water, disinfectant.
Rebecca:That all sound right?
Kenny:Don't worry, everything's gonna be fine.
Clem:I want to check on sarah.
Clem:I'll help everyone else, too.
Rebecca:I think that'd be good.
Luke: Yeah.
Luke:Yeah, sure.
Luke:Alright, everyone, you know what to do.
Ben:Let's be fast, and let's be careful.
Clem walks up to Sarah.
Clem: Hey, Sarah.
Clem:You know, rebecca's starting to.
Sarah:They were going to leave me, weren't they?
Clem: Doug wasn't going to leave you.
Sarah:How come you didn't leave me?
Clem:When you wouldn't even talk to anyone.
Clem:I thought maybe I should have. Clem:But I couldn't just leave you behind.
Sarah: I just want my dad.
Clem: I know.
Sarah:When he gets here, we should all go back to the cabin.
Sarah:We're safe there.
Clem: Sarah, your dad, you know he isn't coming, right?
Clem: Sarah?
Rebecca: Hey.
Rebecca:I think that's all she can take for now.
Rebecca:She'll be alright.
Luke:The others could really use a hand scouting for supplies.
Clem: I'll go help jane.
Luke: Good.
Luke:Don't be too long if you can help it.
Lee: Good luck, sweet pea.
Clem: You too.
Clem walks away from Sarah and walks up to the visitor center.
Jane is sitting on one of the benches.
Jane: Oh, hey.
Clem: Hey.
Clem:What are you doing?
Jane:Getting lost in thought, not the safest habit to have these days.
Jane:Well, it's sometimes good to have someone watching your back.
Jane:So, come on, partner.
Jane:Let's go check out that deck.
Jane:I like the height.
Clem: Partner?
Jane:Don't let it get to your head.
Jane:Let's go.
Jane:I hope this place is what we're looking for.
Jane: God knows we could use a break.
Clem and Jane go up the stairs.
Jane:Check this out.
Jane:This gate's still locked, which means that hopefully, no one's gotten to whatever was locked in there in the first place.
Jane:Who knows what could be in there?
Clem:That could be a place for rebecca to have the baby.
Jane:Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Jane: Hm.
Jane:Maybe I can pick the lock.
Jane takes out the nail file.
Clem:The nail file?
Jane:Versatility is not overrated.
Jane starts trying to pick the lock.
Jane:You know, uh, it wouldn't hurt to try a heavier hand with this thing.
Jane:See if you can find something bigger.
Jane:We might need to bust the mechanism.
Clem looks through the working telescope.
Clem:There's some buildings across the river.
Clem:I think I can see a church.
Jane:The nearest river crossing is miles up.
Jane: Rebecca wouldn't make it in her condition.
Jane:Keep it in mind that.
Clem notices someone approaching.
Clem: Jane!
Clem:There's someone coming toward us.
Jane and Clem hide and watch him.
Jane:Shit, shit, shit.
Jane:He's coming this way.
Jane:And who knows if he has friends nearby?
Clem:Why's he coming up here?
Jane: No idea.
Jane:But we should scope him out and see what he's up to.
Jane:I don't like having some stranger sneaking around so close to the others.
Jane:We've got enough on our plates with a baby coming.
Jane:Last thing we need is someone telling their friends about the new, easy targets in the neighborhood.
Clem:I'll distract him so you can sneak up behind him.
Jane: Good call.
The guy starts walking up the stairs.
Jane: Shit.
Jane: Hide.
Jane: Now.
Clem hides behind the cannon, and Jane hides in the room. The guy reaches the deck and tries to put the bag inside the trash can. Clem peeks over the cannon to watch him.
The guy can't fit the bag inside the trash can.
Clem: Hey.
The guy turns around and points a gun at her.
Clem:I just want to talk to you.
Clem:Do you understand me?
???: Yes.
???: I am arvo.
Arvo:I'm going to go.
Arvo:I don't want to shoot.
Jane sneaks toward Arvo.
Arvo:I don't want to shoot anyone. Arvo:Especially маленькая девочка.
Arvo:A, uh, little girl.
Clem:You don't have to shoot anyone. Clem:Just put the gun down.
Jane grabs the gun from Arvo and points it at him.
Jane: Back up.
Jane:Put the bag down.
Arvo drops the bag.
Jane: Clem, make sure he doesn't have any other weapons in there.
Clem opens the bag and finds medical supplies.
Arvo: No.
Arvo:I have no more guns.
Arvo:I swear to you.
Jane:We just need to make sure you're not a threat.
Clem takes some painkillers out of the bag. Jane looks at the supplies.
Jane: Whoa.
Jane:That's a serious stash of meds.
Arvo:No, no, no, no, no.
Arvo:Take whatever you want, but don't take that medicine.
Arvo:It's for my sister.
Arvo:My older sister.
Arvo:She is sick.
Clem: You're lying.
Arvo:No, it's true.
Arvo: No.
Arvo:I'm not!
Arvo:She's in the woods.
Jane:Sister or not, we could really use that stuff.
Arvo: No!
Arvo:You are not nice people.
Arvo:You have already left me defenseless, and now you take my sister's medicine?
Arvo:You are!
Arvo speaks Russian.
Jane: Hey!
Jane:We've got people who are suffering.
Jane:Who need this medicine.
Jane: Luke's still a wreck after carver's,kenny's a mess,rebecca's in pain.
Jane:Look at all of it.
Jane: Clementine, we need that stuff.
Arvo:My people are suffering just as much as yours.
Arvo:You are not special!
Arvo: Clementine, yes?
Arvo:You must believe me.
Jane:We don't believe a fucking word about your sick sister.
Arvo:Please don't make my sister suffer.
Arvo:She has been through enough.
Clem:I'm sorry, arvo.
Clem:We need these.
Arvo:You will wish you hadn't done this.
Jane grabs Arvo by his collar and slams him against the rail, holding the gun to his head.
Arvo: No!
Arvo:What are you doing?
Arvo:You don't have to do this!
Arvo:Just let me go.
Clem says nothing.
Jane:Don't you ever come around here again.
Jane:I don't care if you do have some sick sister.
Jane:The next time I see you won't just be walking away.
Jane: Go.
Jane releases Arvo, and he walks away. Jane tosses the gun to the floor.
Jane:I can't believe I've gotten into this mess.
Jane:Taking some stupid kid's stuff. Jane:Like a bandit.
Jane:Go bring those meds back to the others and bring everybody back here.
Jane:I'm going to get this place open, and then we need to get moved in asap.
Jane continues trying to pick the lock, and Clem leaves. She walks down the stairs and sees Luke approaching.
Luke: Clem!
Luke: Clem, hey!
Luke:Any luck with that observation deck?
Luke:I was just checking on rebecca and kenny, and they said they hadn't heard from you in a while.
Clem:The deck might be a safe place we can stay tonight, where rebecca could have the baby.
Clem:At least, if we can't find something better.
Luke:I guess that's something.
Luke:I should check it out.
Luke:Oh, by the way, otis,bonnie,and mike are back.
Luke:Is jane still up there now?
Clem: Yeah.
Clem:She's trying to get the gift shop opened.
Luke:You know, I can't figure her out. Luke:I mean, she really lays it on the line, but at the same time, she doesn't show you anything that counts.
Luke:And I'm never quite sure if she just doesn't like people, or just plain-out doesn't like me.
Clem:I'm not sure what to think about her.
Clem:She's strong, and she's been helping us.
Clem:But she's cold.
Luke:Maybe, but nobody's that cold. Luke:I'm definitely starting to think we might need to branch out.
Clem:What do you mean?
Luke: Jane seems like the kind of person who gets tempered by hardship.
Luke:You know?
Luke:But when I look at kenny now, he just seems broken, and broken people get reckless.
Luke:I know you got a history with him.
Luke:Look, I think he's a good guy.
Luke:At least, started as a good guy.
Clem:Are you any better?
Clem:Is anyone?
Luke:Whoa, whoa, hold on, I didn't mean, I just wanna survive.
Luke:And that means pickin' the right sides.
Luke: I used to think that maybe all the horror hadn't gotten to you yet, but you watched your friend murder carver.
Luke:Not just kill him, but clem, you and your friends didn't even blink.
Clem: Carver deserved what happened to him.
Luke:He was a bad man, no question about that.
Luke:I'm just hoping we don't become the same.
Clem:I need to tell the others about the deck.
Luke: Yeah.
Luke: Good.
Luke:I will, uh, I'll see you back there.
Luke goes upstairs and Clem returns to Parker's Run.
Rebecca:I'm not supposed to be in labor yet, kenny.
Rebecca:What if something's wrong?
Kenny:Nothing's wrong.
Kenny:Babies know how to be born.
Rebecca: Clementine!
Shawn:What'd you find?
Clem:The building around back has an observation deck.
Ben:Somewhere the baby will be safer?
Rebecca:It's coming so much faster than I thought.
Kenny:I told you, you're getting yourself all worked up over nothing.
Rebecca:Hey, clem.
Rebecca:Glad you made it back safe.
Clem:How are you feeling?
Rebecca: Scared.
Rebecca:And it hurts.
Kenny: Hmph.
Rebecca:I wish alvin was here.
Clem:Everything alvin did was for you and the baby.
Rebecca:I know it's a waste of time, but I can't stop thinking about things I should've said to him.
Rebecca:Things I should've talked to him about.
Rebecca:How am I ever gonna do this without him.
Clem: Alvin told me that he thinks the baby's gonna be a girl.
Rebecca:Oh, yeah?
Rebecca:That big dummy never did have a sense for these things.
Rebecca:I've got a feeling this one's a boy.
Rebecca:You're a good kid, Clementine.
Rebecca:I'm glad you'll be there to watch out for this baby.
Rebecca: Ugh!
Rebecca:Oh, shit.
Kenny: I got this.
Clem: Jane and I found some medicine.
Clem:Is it safe for rebecca to take?
Clem holds out a bottle of medicine and Kenny inspects it.
Kenny: Hmm.
Kenny:Well, should make her more comfortable, anyway.
Rebecca: Clementine, you are my favorite person in the entire world.
Rebecca takes some of the medicine.
Clem walks away from Kenny and Rebecca and walks up to Lee.
Clem: Hey, lee.
Lee: Hey, sweet pea.
Clem:How you doing?
Lee:I'm fine, just sad.
Clem: Why?
Lee: Doug could be dead, and I did nothing to stop it.
Clem: You tried everything.
Lee:Thanks, sweet pea.
Clem walks away from Lee and walks up to Otis.
Clem: Hey.
Otis: Hey.
Clem:We haven't talked a lot.
Otis:Yeah, a lot of stuff has been happening to prevent that.
Clem:How are you?
Otis:I'm more worried about rebecca than me.
Clem: Me too.
Clem:How do you feel about his death?
Otis: He died a hero in my heart.
Clem: Mine, too.
Clem walks away from Otis and walks up to Ben.
Clem: Hey.
Ben: Hey, clem.
Clem:How are you feeling?
Ben: Okay, you?
Clem: I'm fine.
Ben: Good.
Clem:How do you feel about doug's death?
Ben:Who didn't help the most?
Clem: Jane.
Ben: I knew it.
Ben:We should get rid of jane as soon as possible.
Clem:You're probably right.
Clem walks away from Ben and walks up to Shawn.
Clem: Hey.
Shawn: Hey.
Clem:I'm sorry about doug.
Shawn: It's okay.
Shawn:As long he died protecting you,otis,and sarah.
Clem: He did.
Shawn: Thank you.
Everyone but Luke and Jane hears Rebecca screaming in pain.
Rebecca:Shit, shit.
Rebecca:Oh, god.
Kenny:Breathe like I told you.
Rebecca:Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Rebecca:Oh, god.
Rebecca:Oh, god!
Sarah: Oh, no.
Sarah: Clem.
Sarah: Clementine.
Walkers start to approach.
Bonnie:Shit, walkers!
Mike:How'd they get that close without anyone seeing 'em?
Lee:Where's the hell's luke?
Clem: Kenny, we've gotta do something!
Kenny:You guys just keep that baby safe.
Clem: Kenny?
Kenny takes his crowbar and walks toward the herd.
Bonnie:We can't stay here!
Mike:The museum!
Otis:It's our only choice!
Clem: No!
Clem: Jane and I found a place!
Rebecca: Clementine, where's the place you and Jane found?
Clem: I'll show you!
Rebecca: Good.
Rebecca:Someone help me up.
Bonnie and Ben help Rebecca.
Bonnie: Oh, god!
Ben:There's so many!
Rebecca:We gotta get out of here.
Rebecca:I am not dying like this.
Mike: Here they come.
Clem: Mike!
Clem: The water!
Mike: On it!
Shawn: I'll get sarah!
Lee:I guess me and otis will help kenny!
Otis takes out hilda, and Lee takes out his cleaver.
Kenny,Otis,and Lee kill some of the approaching walkers. Kenny repeatedly beats one in the face. The rest of the group walks toward the visitor center.
Rebecca: Jesus.
Bonnie: Clem, I don't think he's okay. Bonnie:He's losin' it.
Bonnie:I mean, that isn't.
Rebecca:Let's go, please!
Clem:He's doing it to protect us.
Bonnie: Sure, but.
Lee grabs Kenny's arm.
Lee: Kenny.
Lee:Come on, man.
Otis:Let's go.
Lee: Kenny!
Kenny: Damn it.
Kenny,Lee,and Otis retreat from the herd. Kenny kills a walker following Clem.
The group reaches the visitor center, the walkers continuing after them. Mike sets down water. Clem goes upstairs and finds Luke and Jane.
Luke:That's about as human as I've felt in a long time.
Luke:I almost forgot what.
Luke: Clementine!
Luke: Jesus, clem.
Luke:It's not um.
Luke:We were just.
Clem:What's going on?
Luke:Well, uh, I mean.
Bonnie and Ben help Rebecca upstairs.
Bonnie: In here.
Ben:Let's get you comfortable.
Kenny:What the fuck are you two doing up here?
Luke: Kenny!
Luke:What's going on?
Shawn:We've got walkers out there, which you were supposed to be keeping an eye out for.
Mike closes the other shutter door. He,Sarah,Lee,and Otis join the rest of the group.
Luke:Hey, hold on a second.
Luke:Just tell me what's goin' on!
Kenny:What's goin' on is you're a reckless fuckin' moron.
Luke:I'm reckless?!
Luke:You know, you got a lotta nerve, kenny!
Otis: Rebecca's having the baby!
Luke: Now?
Rebecca screams in pain.
Luke: Fuck!
Luke:I'm sorry.
Rebecca: Shit!
Rebecca: Shit!
Bonnie:Right over here.
Bonnie and Ben helps Rebecca sit down and covers her in a blanket.
Rebecca:Oh, god, oh, god, oh, god.
Bonnie:There you go.
Ben:Just ride it out.
Clem:You're gonna be okay.
Lee:We'll take care of you.
Mike:They're comin' up the stairs!
Luke: Here.
Luke:Uh, we should.
Kenny:You wanna help?
Kenny:Get out there are keep the walkers off us!
Kenny: I'll do this.
Kenny:I've been here before.
Shawn:I'll help you.
Kenny:Okay, kid.
Mike:They can't rush us on the stairs! Otis:Shoot 'em before they get to us!
Luke:Shit, that's a lot of 'em.
Luke:We need everyone out here!
Clem:I'll help out.
Lee:Me too.
Kenny: Go, we got this!
Shawn:Hopefully.
Mike:Here they come!
Luke gives Clem a pistol.
Luke: Here.
Lee:We can't let them up here!
Clem and the others shoot the walkers.
Jane:There are too many of 'em!
Mike: Shit!
Luke:Keep shooting!
Otis:They are not gettin' up here!
Ben:We're gonna run outta ammo!
The group tries to block the doors and kill the walkers.
Mike:Find somethin' to block this gate!
Bonnie: Help us!
Clem tries to push the cannon.
Clem:We could block the gate with this!
Luke:I'll help, I'm coming!
Luke and Clem turn the cannon around.
Luke: Together.
Luke: Ready?
They push the cannon forward, but the deck starts to break.
Luke: Oh, shit!
Mike: Holy fuck!
Otis: Goddamn!
Lee: Sweet jesus!
Ben: Oh crap!
Part of the deck collapses, bringing the walkers down with it.
Kenny:What the fuck is goin' on out there?!
Shawn: Are you guys, okay?!
Otis: Um.
One of the cables attached to the deck breaks loose.
Luke:Get back!
Luke:Get back!
Otis: Oh shit!
Most of the deck collapses, but the group moves back to a sturdy part of the deck near the shutter. Jane hangs onto the edge, and Luke grabs onto her arm.
Otis is also hanging onto the edge with Sarah holding onto his leg.
Clem: Jane!
Bonnie: Sarah, hang on!
Lee: Otis!
Ben: Oh god!
Clem and Lee help Otis and Sarah.
Clem:Take my hand!
Clem and Lee pull Otis and Sarah up.
Ben:Take my hand!
Luke and Ben pull Jane up.
Rebecca screams.
Kenny: Push!
Jane: Oh, shit.
Ben:They're climbing up!
Bonnie: What?
Lee:They're gonna make it up here.
Mike: Fuck!
Luke:Does this shit ever end?!
Clem:We need to break the rest of the deck.
Otis: She's right.
Otis: She's right!
Lee:Drop the whole deck!
Mike: Drop the.
Mike:Are you fucking crazy?!
Bonnie:How are we gonna do that?!
Lee:I don't know, just look around!
Luke starts stomping on the deck to break it.
Clem stomps on the deck.
Ben:This ain't working!
Clem tries to cut the cable.
Bonnie:Ain't gonna work!
Bonnie:It's too thick!
Clem decides to hack the support plate.
Clem: Crap.
Clem: Look!
Otis:That'll work!
Luke:We bust that, the whole thing comes down.
Clem: Boost me!
Ben puts Clem on his shoulders, and she starts to hack away at the cable's support plate.
Luke:They're gettin' closer!
Luke: Clementine!
Jane:Move it!
Mike:Come on!
Clem:I'm going as fast as I can!
Clem successfully breaks the plate off the wall.
Luke:Watch it!
Mike:Son of a bitch!
The part of the deck the group is not standing on falls down, and so do the walkers. The group walks back to Rebecca,Kenny,and Shawn.
Bonnie: Oh, no.
Kenny holds a pale, unmoving baby.
Shawn:Not again.
Rebecca:God no, no.
Clem: Kenny?
The baby coughs and cries, color returning to its body. Some time later, most of the group is sleeping. Clem wakes up and sees Rebecca holding the baby, now swaddled in cloth.
Rebecca: Hey, Clementine.
Clem:Hey, how's he doing?
Rebecca:He's perfect.
Rebecca:Who's a perfect little man? Rebecca:Who's the most perfect little man in the whole world?
Clem:He looks like alvin.
Rebecca:You think so?
Clem: Definitely.
Rebecca:Thank you.
Rebecca coughs.
Rebecca:I'm fine, I'm fine.
Rebecca:I just wish I could get warm.
Mike: Otis, why don't you give her that coat we found?
Otis gets up and offers the coat.
Mike:Sorry, y'know, about the color.
Rebecca:You really think I care about that?
Rebecca:Do you guys wanna hold him?
Clem: Could I?
Otis: Sure.
Rebecca:Of course, clem.
Rebecca:You guys are family.
Rebecca: Here.
Rebecca hands the baby to Clem, and he starts crying.
Clem: Shh, shh.
Clem:There you go.
Rebecca: You're a natural.
Kenny:Look at you.
Otis:Like a big sister.
Kenny:Here, let me take him.
Kenny:You three should rest. Kenny:Especially you.
Kenny takes the baby.
Rebecca:When's the last time you slept, kenny?
Kenny:About two years ago.
Kenny:I'm fine.
Kenny:Plus somebody's gotta watch you while mama gets her beauty sleep.
Kenny sniffs the baby.
Kenny:You never forget that smell.
Kenny walks away. Clem notices Jane outside the room and follows her. Jane looks through the shutter window of the other room.
Jane: Ah, shit.
Clem:What are you doing?
Jane:Listen, I'm sorry.
Jane:I've gotta go.
Jane opens the shutter.
Jane:Come on, the longer I stay, the harder it'll be.
Clem:What about, luke?
Jane:What about him?
Clem:Aren't you guys?
Jane:Look, luke's a nice guy, but it's not like that.
Jane:And it can't ever be like that.
Clem: Oh.
Jane:Well, that's it, then.
Jane: You know, jaime, and almost sarah.
Jane:I'm not gonna stick around and watch it happen to you and otis, too. Jane:You know the score.
Clem:I'll be okay.
Jane: Sure.
Jane:But give it enough time, and everyone's luck runs out.
Jane:Listen, when the shit hits the fan, cause it always does, remember that you can make it on your own.
Jane:It's not an option for everyone.
Jane:If things start heading south, don't let them drag you down with them.
Jane:You don't owe them anything.
Clem: Yeah, I know.
Jane: Good.
Jane: Okay.
Jane:You take care of yourself.
Jane:I mean that.
Jane: Here.
Jane offers her nail file.
Jane:Versatility is not overrated.
Clem takes the nail file.
Clem: Thanks.
Jane: Yeah.
Jane walks down the stairs. Clem sits down and holds onto the railing. Luke enters.
Luke:Hey, thought you'd be asleep by now.
Luke:You okay?
Clem: It's nothing, luke.
Clem:Don't worry about it.
Luke:Okay, just checkin' in with you.
Luke:Temperature's dropping.
Luke:We're low on food.
Luke:I think we've gotta stay put for a while, you know, for rebecca and the baby.
Luke:So I'm thinking as soon as it gets light, jane and I should go explore, see if we can find some place to scavenge. Luke: What?
Clem: Jane left for good.
Luke: What?
Luke: When?
Clem: Just now.
Luke:Are you serious?
Luke:She didn't say anything about leaving to me.
Luke:What the fuck?!
Luke hits the wall.
Luke:Damn it!
Kenny enters, holding the crying baby.
Kenny:Hey, keep it down.
Luke: Sorry, I, sorry.
Luke:Just, jane's gone.
Kenny: Really?!
Kenny: Luke?
Kenny:Of all the childish bullshit.
Luke: Childish?
Luke:Goddamn it, kenny, you know what?
Luke:Just lay off.
Kenny: No.
