CHAPTER 12

“GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING” I was having pleasant dreams and all of a sudden I was greeted by the sweet voice of Aria.(please note the sarcasm).

“What time is it?” I groaned, not even bothering to open my eyes.

“9 am.” She said as she pulled the curtains open I think, on account of the light burning my eyes.

“Wake me up when it’s a godly hour already.” I said as I hid back under my covers.

“This is a godly hour.” She said laughing. “Just not a Becca hour.”

“exactly, so wake me up when it’s a Becca hour.” Can’t she see I need sleep? We had this party last night obviously. It was a blast I haven’t had that much fun in ages with my family. Being abroad for a couple of years and being away from them sucked. It was nice to be home again.

“But Beccaaaa I need Starbucks.” She whined. Yeah Aria and I are the same age but I tell you sometimes I feel like she and Mike could be best buddies.

“You just had Starbucks last night.”

“That was last night!!!” She protested. “I’m not gonna stop poking you until you agree to go with me and Derek.” And at that, she started poking me. Derek’s one of our cousins who we actually get along with. He’s 18 and he keeps comparing himself to Justin Bieber, we honestly can’t see the resemblance though. But whatever makes him happy and sleep at night.

“Fine! I’m up, I’m up!” I said in defeat as I sat up from my beautiful slumber. Aria did her little victory dance before exiting my room… that girl.

After showering I just decided to put on some jeans, a white vneck top, my gray cardigan with a brown stripe at the center and got my boots and beanie ready for later. (It wasn’t that cold outside anymore, anyway.)

Derek, Aria and I made way for Starbucks this early in the day like how any other normal teenagers would. I was still groggy last night being one of the last people to go to bed, but Aria and Derek seemed like they had enough energy bottled up for a lifetime. They were singing random songs (more likely shouting, it runs in the family) so loud that I wonder if our neighbors got a wakeup call that they didn’t expect.

“Grande Chocolate Chip Cream please.” I told the lady at the counter.

“Name?” She smiled at me.

“Becky.”

“I thought you don’t like being called Becky anymore?” Derek said, raising his eyebrows. I snapped at him for calling me Becky the other day… it was sort of like in the heat of the moment don’t blame me I was having a bad day. Bumping into someone in particular didn’t brighten up my day.

“I don’t.” I answered him and he just gave me a confused look.

“I’ll never understand women.” He said more to himself before buying his drink.

We decided to hang out there for a while (actually, Aria convinced us to) but I didn’t really mind because there weren’t much people and if we get home now our parents would probably ask us to help clean up or something.

Aria was chugging down her third venti Frappuccino when she got wide eyed at something behind me.

“Aria are you oka--?” I was going to ask, but I was cut off by someone on the other side of the room.
