(POV:Minh)
We both stayed silent, none of us sure who wanted to talk first. We both just stare at the floor, waiting for the other to say something. Eventually, Naomi says. "Well, I guess now is the time for y'all to talk to each other." "You can't just be awkward around each other forever." Max then looks up, taking a long breath before starting. "I'm sorry for this morning" "I just felt so awkward and out of place." "I just didn't know what to do," Max says in a somber tone. "No" I interject. "I didn't say what I wanted to at the house." I go on. "I liked spending time with you Max, and I want to continue doing that," I say while raising my eyes and looking at him. "Aaaaaah." Naomi accidentally juts out of excitement. We both look at her with slight aggravation and then stop the gaze with a very hard laugh at the inappropriateness of what had just gone down.
"I just hope that we can take this slow." "I don't want to peer into anything so fast since we've known each other for only about a week now," Max says as I give a nod of approval. " He walked over to me, widening his arms for a hug. We both lean into each other. Sharing a brief moment of enjoyment. After we both look at each other with pure happiness we hear a loud slurping noise to see Naomi drinking from a practically empty apple juice box. "WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS MAKING IT AWKWARD" "Sorry Max'' she says in response." She left the room out of pure embarrassment which was very funny. But it then got sorta awkward as we were all alone now.
Max put his arm on my shoulder and I said "U-um well.. "w~why don't we go out.." I struggled to speak and tried to compose the sentence again. "y'know.. dinner sometime?" "Get a fresh start on this," Max says while stumbling on his words. I give a slight smile, "That sounds great." After a short pause, Naomi comes out of the kitchen with something in her hand. It's a charcuterie board with a bunch of delectable foods and cheeses. As we look at the delicious food she made for us while she was gone, our pupils dilate at the food. I then give Max a slight peck on the cheek as we continue to eat and talk casually. The problem has been officially solved.
Naomi then says "I invited Tyler to come, I didn't tell him about your relationship drama though. Well, make it a little secret." I laugh slightly at how cliche it sounds but it's also exciting at the same time to be having this secrecy about something. Max and I both look at each other and then hug each other. Naomi then makes a fake gag noise which was so sudden It caused us to laugh. "When is he coming?" I say. "Let me see..." she then looks at her phone with her face slightly beaming up. "About five minutes."
I suddenly get excited and nervous as we get to see Tyler again. A few minutes pass and it has started to rain very heavily. We all hear a knock on the door. "Ahh, I'll go, give me a minute," Naomi says. She walks to the door and opens it up. We can't see him and he can't see us because the front door isn't in line of sight with the living room. "Aww Tyler, your hair is yellow now." I heard her say in an unusually odd and stressed tone, "Why does she sound like this?" I was thinking to myself. "Why did you call me that Nay? you usually call me baby." Tyler says. "What...what?" I whisper in Max's ear. I suddenly hear light smacking noises, we run to the door to see what is happening and we see Naomi and Tyler kissing each other passionately and seductively. "WHAT." Me and Max both say. Things have taken a turn.
