The air was thick with tension as Jasmine and Antonio stood facing each other, their voices low and menacing. The silence between them was oppressive, heavy with the weight of secrets and lies. Jasmine's eyes flashed with anger as she spat out the words she'd been holding in for months: "I know about your mistress, Antonio."

Antonio's face turned red with rage, and he slammed his fist on the kitchen counter.

"You're just being paranoid, Jasmine!" he shouted. "I'm working late, that's all. You're just insecure and jealous."

Jasmine's eyes narrowed, and she took a step closer to him.

"Don't lie to me, Antonio," She said, her voice cold and even. "I have proof. And I want a divorce."

Antonio's expression changed from anger to shock, and he took a step back, his eyes wide with disbelief.

"You can't be serious," he said, but Jasmine just shook her head.

"I've never been more serious in my life."

The argument escalated quickly, with both Jasmine and Antonio saying hurtful things they couldn't take back. The tension in the room grew thicker, and the air seemed to vibrate with anger. Jasmine's heart raced as she realized that this was it, their marriage was over. She felt a pang of sadness, but also a sense of relief. She had been living in limbo for too long, and it was time to move on. Antonio, on the other hand, seemed to be in denial. He kept repeating that Jasmine was being irrational, that she was overreacting. But Jasmine knew the truth, their marriage was dead, and it was time to bury it.

Amelia's eyes widened as she watched her parents' argument from the hallway. She had never seen them fight like this before, and it scared her. She felt like she was witnessing something she shouldn't be seeing, something that was meant to be private. But she couldn't tear her eyes away. She saw Antonio raise his hand, and her heart skipped a beat as she thought he was going to hit Jasmine. But instead, he just pointed his finger at her, his face red with anger.

"You're just like your mother," He spat. "Always nagging, always complaining. I'm sick of it."

Amelia felt a lump form in her throat as she watched her mother's face fall. She had never seen Jasmine look so sad, so defeated.

Amelia quickly grabbed her phone and dialed Sofia's number, her hands shaking as she waited for her aunt to answer. When Sofia picked up, Amelia could hear the concern in her voice.

"Amelia, what's wrong? You're scaring me."

Amelia took a deep breath and tried to explain, but her voice was trembling too much.

"Mom and Dad are fighting, Aunt Sofia. It's really bad. Can you come get Anna and me? Please?"

Sofia's voice turned firm and reassuring.

"Of course, Amelia. I'll be right there. Just stay safe, okay?"

Amelia nodded, even though Sofia couldn't see her. She felt a small sense of relief knowing her aunt was on the way.

As they waited for Sofia to arrive, Amelia and Anna sat on the couch, holding hands and looking at each other nervously. Max, Anna's guide dog, lay by their feet, his ears perked up as he sensed their anxiety. Amelia tried to distract Anna by playing games on her tablet, but Anna was too anxious to focus. She kept looking at the door, waiting for Sofia to come and rescue them from the chaos. Finally, they heard the doorbell ring, and Amelia jumped up to answer it. Sofia stood on the porch, her face etched with concern.

"Hey girls," she said softly. "Let's get you out of here, okay?"

Amelia and Anna nodded, and Sofia helped them carry their suitcases and Max's harness to the car. As they drove away from the house, Amelia felt a sense of relief wash over her. They were safe now.
