Chapter 16- Tobias Big Game

As Tobias laced up his cleats, he felt his heart racing with anticipation, the familiar pre-game jitters threatening to derail his focus. He looks up at Jasmine and Kai, who are both grinning at him. Jasmine gives him a thumbs up, and Kai holds up a sign that reads "Tobias is Awesome!"

Tobias feels a surge of confidence and smiles back at them. He takes a deep breath, visualizes the game, and runs out onto the field. The crowd cheers, and the game begins.

The whistle blows, and Tobias charges forward, his feet pounding the turf. He weaves past defenders, his eyes fixed on the goal. Jasmine and Kai cheer him on, their voices carrying above the din of the crowd. Tobias feels their energy, uses it to fuel his own. He dodges another defender, makes a break for the goal. The goalie looms ahead, but Tobias is determined. He kicks the ball with all his might, and it soars into the net. The crowd erupts, and Tobias is mobbed by his teammates. Jasmine and Kai rush onto the field, beaming with pride.

Tobias grins, basking in the glory of his goal. Jasmine and Kai hug him tightly,their faces shining with pride.

"We knew you could do it, Tobias!" Jasmine exclaims.

Kai adds, "You're the best soccer player ever!"

Tobias laughs, feeling happy and proud. He looks up at the scoreboard,sees his team leading by one goal. He knows the game isn't over yet, but he feels confident. He gives Jasmine and Kai a thumbs up, and they cheer him on as he runs back onto the field.

The game resumes, and Tobias's team fights to maintain their lead. Tobias plays with fierce determination, blocking shots and maying strategic passes. Jasmine and Kai cheer him on, their voices hoarse from shouting. As the clock ticks down, Tobias's team scores another goal, securing their victory. Tobias is mobbed by his teammates again, this time with even more excitement. Jasmine and Kai join in, hugging him tightly and screaming with joy. Tobias grins, feeling elated and proud. He knows this win is a team effort, but he also knows he played a crucial role. He feels happy and content, knowing he gave it his all and emerged victorious.

Jasmine's heart sinks as she reads the text message. She quickly shows it to Kai, and they both rush off the field, leaving Tobias and his teammates to celebrate their victory. They hurry to the hospital, worried sick about Amelia. As they arrive, they see Amelia lying in bed, looking pale and weak. Jasmine and Kai rush to her side, asking the doctors what's wrong. The doctor explains that Amelia has a severe case of food poisoning and needs to stay in the hospital for a few days. Jasmine and Kai are relieved that it's not anything more serious, but they're still worried about their daughter. They stay by her side, holding her hand and trying to make her feel better. As the night wears on, Amelia's condition improves slightly, but Jasmine and Kai remain vigilant by her bedside. They talk to her softly, trying to keep her spirits up, and occasionally glance at each other with worried expressions. The hospital room is dimly lit, with only a faint glow from the machines monitoring Amelia's vital signs. Jasmine holds Amelia's hand tightly, feeling a sense of helplessness wash over her. She wishes she could take her daughter's place, absorb her pain and sickness. Kai tries to reassure her, but Jasmine can't shake off the feeling of fear and uncertainty. She whispers a silent prayer, begging for Amelia's recovery.

As the hours pass, Jasmine and Kai take turns trying to rest, but neither can shake off the feeling of unease. They keep looking at Amelia, willing her to get better. Jasmine tries to distract herself by reading a book, but she can't focus. Kai tries to watch tv, but he can't keep his eyes off Amelia either. She reaches out, takes his hand, and they sit together in silence, watching over their daughter.

Jasmine and Kai reluctantly leave Amelia's bedside, knowing they need to check on their other children at home. They drive home in silence, both lost in thought. At home, they find the other kids fast asleep, but they can't shake off the feeling of worry and fear. They try to get some rest, but their minds keep wandering back to Amelia. They toss and turn, unable to sleep. Finally, they give up and go back to the hospital, where they find Amelia's condition unchanged. They sit by her bedside, holding her hand and praying for her recovery.

Jasmine and Kai decide to grab some food from a nearby drive-through, hoping to refuel and recharge. They pull up to the Wendy's drive-through and order some burgers and fries. As they wait for their food, they sit in silence, both lost in thought. Finally, they receive their food and start eating, but their minds keep wandering back to Amelia. They try to distract themselves by talking about other things, but it's no use. They finish their food quickly and head back to the hospital, eager to be by Amelia's side again.

Jasmine and Kai try to take their minds off Amelia's illness by discussing their other daughters' upcoming birthday. "Anna and Amelia's birthday is coming up soon," Jasmine says, trying to sound cheerful. "We should start thinking about what to get them." Kai nods, trying to play along. "Yeah, they're going to be 7 and 9 soon. We should get them something special." They start brainstorming ideas, but their hearts aren't in it. They both know that Amelia's health is more important than any birthday present.

Jasmine and Kai decide to get Anna a beautiful Gypsy Vanner horse and Amelia a sweet Welsh pony for their birthday. They imagine the girls' faces lighting up when they see their new pets. But as they sit by Amelia's bedside, they know that this birthday might be different. They hope that Amelia will be well enough to enjoy her new pony, but they're not sure if that will be possible. They try to stay positive, but it's hard when their daughter is lying in a hospital bed.

The next morning, the nurse comes into Amelia's hospital room to check on her. Jasmine and Kai are sitting by her bedside, holding her hands and talking softly to her. The nurse smiles and says, "Good morning, Amelia! How are you feeling today?" Amelia opens her eyes and looks around, taking in her surroundings. She smiles weakly and says, "I'm okay, I think." The nurse nods and says, "That's great! We're going to run some tests today to see how you're doing. But first, let's get you cleaned up and comfortable, okay?" Amelia nods, and the nurse helps her sit up and get settled. Jasmine and Kai watch anxiously, hoping that Amelia is on the mend.

As the nurse finishes up Amelia's care, she turns to Jasmine and Kai with a reassuring smile. "Amelia's vitals are stable, and she's showing signs of improvement. We'll continue to monitor her closely, but I think she's going to be okay." Jasmine and Kai exhale a sigh of relief, feeling a weight lift off their shoulders. They thank the nurse and sit back down beside Amelia, holding her hands tightly. Amelia looks up at them with a weak smile, and they smile back, feeling a sense of hope and gratitude.

As the day goes on, Amelia's condition continues to improve. She starts to sit up and talk more, and Jasmine and Kai can't help but feel a sense of joy and relief. They talk to her about her birthday, and Amelia's eyes light up with excitement. "I can't wait to see my pony!" she says, her voice full of enthusiasm. Jasmine and Kai exchange a happy glance, feeling grateful that Amelia is going to be okay. They spend the rest of the day by her bedside, talking and laughing together as a family.

As the days pass, Amelia grows stronger and more energetic. She starts to walk around the hospital room, and even plays with her siblings a little. Jasmine and Kai are overjoyed to see their daughter recovering, and they can't wait to take her home. They start making plans for Amelia's birthday party, and Amelia is thrilled to hear that her pony will be there.
