"This is the first time you're going on a dinner with a guy, so don't do anything foolish. I know Tristan is a good guy, and I don't think he'll do anything bad to you." Megs reminded me, emphasizing her last words. From what I'm hearing now, it seems like she really knows Tristan. And because she also made sure I wouldn't run away from him, she left along with me.

"I don't think so." I retorted, contemplating if my decision was right. If it weren't for Megs' insistence, I wouldn't have shown up.

"Be professional, okay? All right. He's here," she said as Tristan stood in front of my house.

As we walked out of the gate, I noticed his intense gaze, so I couldn't help but look at his mysterious face. My attention was then drawn to his simple outfit. He was wearing a pair of black chinos and a white long-sleeved button-down shirt, with his messy curly brown hair. I couldn't deny that the outfit suited him, and he looked handsome. At that moment, he became human in my eyes.

"Okay, enough of those stares. You haven't left yet, but there's already a staring contest happening," Megs joked, breaking the tension. She suddenly looked away, swallowing.

"I gotta go." Megs added, looking at Tristan. "Do take care of our best friend. And if she does anything stupid, just call me." She handed him her card, and Tristan chuckled softly in response. He simply nodded in agreement with her words.

What the hell! I ended up looking like the bad one.

Before Megs got into her car, she glanced back again. "Be good to him." She warned me. I gave her a sharp look, signaling her to shut her mouth. She got into the car with a hint of joy on her face.

Tristan and I both looked at Megan's car as it was about to leave and when Megs was gone, a silence fell between us. I felt his gaze on me again so I faced him.

"What?" I snapped at him.

"I've never seen a more beautiful view in my life, until now." He said.

"Really? You impressed again?"

He grinned.

"As always."

I knew that was part of his smooth talk, and if I were like other women who fell for it, he would have had me long ago. Yeah, he has a sense of humor that women like. He's also handsome and appealing. But someone like him won't change my views on men. I know he's just like the others, good only at first.

"Okay. You can admire it but you can't touch it." I said, giving him a mischievous smile before turning away. I heard him sigh, and shortly after, he followed suit.

We entered his house quietly. He was behind me, and I could still feel his gaze. If looks could kill, he'd be in prison by now.

We headed to the pool area of his house, and I was surprised by what I saw. There were roses placed along the way to a table adorned with lights, wine, and a candle. I looked around and noticed the romantic decorations such as flowers, drapes, and fairy lights. This wasn't just dinner, it was a romantic dinner date.

I glanced at him. "What is this? I thought it was just dinner?" I asked him.

"I just wanted to make our first dinner special." He said softly. I shot him a glare and turned to leave but he stepped in front of me, blocking my path. "You can't back out now. Just relax and enjoy the moment." He added, his voice gentle but firm. I paused, caught off guard and he gave me a mischievous smile.

Damn it! He'd outsmarted me once again.

He slowly walked towards the table and pulled out the chair for me to sit. I was annoyed as I watched him do what he was doing while still grinning. Sht! I had no choice but to sit in the chair he provided.
