"Really, a Chinese?", asked Kara, not in the mood.
"What? Did you have another option?", asked Peter, teasing her, "You could said it"
"Well, I hadn't cause it was your day to pay for the dinner"
"That's not an excuse. We agreed we could choose the destination even if it wasn't our time to pay"
Their turn came over and he chose one wanton and a cola. She chose ramen and a Sprite. Just as they agreed, Peter paid all and they left the local. The two teens walked across the never-empty streets of New York, both with their food aside in plastic bags. They were talking about the encounter with Prowler (what a couplet), but when the duo noticed they were attracting so much stares decided to change the topic.
So they talked about their lives. Kara, as a girl that tries to adapt in her new high school and Peter, a boy who tries desperately to find love due to the initial failure with Liz. When they were heading to Queens, Peter suggested going into a rooftop to eat their lunch. Kara agreed, she was starving, so bewaring to not be seen, the couple went to the rooftop: Kara, by flying, and Peter run across the bricked wall.
When they reach the top, Kara instantly knew why Peter wanted to be there:
"Oh, look at that!", said the girl, enthralled.
In front of the stunning view of NY, the sun was setting, sparkling the sea with warm, bright lights. Peter put his hand on the girl's shoulder, also viewing the natural marvel occur right in front of him. As the sun was going down, the city that never sleeps' lights were turning up, revealing a scenery worthy of the daydream of a painter. A peaceful breeze could be inhaled by the two heroes, while enjoying this unique and beautiful moment...
*GROWL*
"My bad!", said Kara, blushing.
"Really?"
"I said you I was starving", excused the girl.
"It was a magic moment!", kept saying Peter, ignoring her friend's apology. "You just... ruined it!"
"And what I do, huh? Tell my stomach to shut up?", asked Kara, burning up.
"Look... I don't wanna fight, so let's eat, yea?"
"It's up to you, Mr. Perfect", teased the girl.
Peter ignored that, causing the almost-woman to irritate more. Decided to not say anything, she just sat and tried to enjoy his ramen. The arachnid literally devoured his meal, and with more hunger, asked Kara if he could pick a bit of hers.
The girl accepted, but the boy, instead of picking a bit, grabbed half-plate and ate it without commiseration. Kara almost cried, and she pushed him, provoking involuntarily the choke of the boy.
Panicking after the loose of another friend, Kara did to him the Heimlich maneuver, but going too far, causing the poor boy to feel pain in his abdomen that made it impossible to him to breathe normally at the beginning.
"What were you thinking?! You almost killed me!"
"I was trying to help you, it's just... I didn't measure well my strength", said Kara, unaware of the harm she had done to him.
"It's okay", said Peter with empathy. "Wanna go home? May will be worried if we don't appear."
"Yeah, better get going...", said the girl while getting up. As they approached the left corner, ready to jump, Kara stopped and grabbed Peter.
"What the...?", said Peter, but Kara interrupted him
"Wait", she demanded. "My "thing sense" just went off." she turned to Peter. "Did not your "tickling" went off as well?"
