The moon was shining through her window's crystal as Kara was sat in her bed, lurking the long and irregular shapes of the buildings in front of her. She was not in the mood, her mind was processing what she had just lived:

"Did Peter just shouted me?", the girl said out loud. "What happened to me so that Peter let out that frightened look?"

She scanned her body, searching what could've scared the hell the brown haired guy, but nothing. Even she stood up and approached to her mirror to have a better view, but obtained the same result.

The only thing she saw was a tiny but appreciable red spark, but Kara just ignored it.

She sat in her white swivel chair and started to spun around until she felt dizzy. It was her manner to relax when she was stressed, but it also helped her to think:

"Well, Peter started to behave strange when I went to investigate that strange red smoke..."

Kara stopped right in the spot and stood up.

"Wait, I remember! That smoke just engulfed me! Could be the possibility that the smoke in some way drug me?"

It was improbably, but not impossible. Kara knew her energy made her resistant to some drugs cause it acted like a natural shield blocking the hormones, nut maybe the aggressor could manage much about the field.

"It's not strange. Most of New York's jerks know how to grow them"

Yeah, maybe they knew how to grew it, but how to modify it? Definitely, in that type of job had worked scientists. Scientists that are specialized on the chemical field. And, due to the powerful effect of the drug, they had to be very well-known ones.

When she was nearly suffering a headache for all the information she was processing, Kara heard how Peter's window closed. She immediately stood up, wanting to apologise of what she did to him, telling him that she didn't knew why she punched and pushed him...but the words couldn't go off her mouth.

She kept her position, staring at the wall Peter's room was, unable to do something else. Kara knew she hadn't, but she felt an amount of guilt coming through her. She heard May yelling from the kitchen:

"Guys, dinner's ready!"

Kara didn't move, not because she didn't had hunger, that she had It was just she didn't want to meet Peter. She was not prepared to face him, and e also didn't want to upset May by starting a row in his kitchen.

She heard how Peter's door opened and is footsteps echoed through the hall. She heard how May asked for her, how Peter answered she might be in her room and the steps of the brown haired going straight her lair.

Although she noticed the door opening and his figure standing in the doorframe, she didn't do any movement:

"Dinner's ready", he said, with a cold tone. "And May wants you on the kitchen"

"I don't have apetite"

"That's not an excuse"

She lifted up her gaze to stare at him. Peter was severe, but Kara knew this was hurting him so much. The girl had never saw him like that and I didn't wanna see him painting more, so she stood up and approached him. They now were at eye level, considering he was slightly taller than her. Kara picked his hand and, surprisingly, he didn't opposed to her savage gesture, instead he let himself done, viewing her hand, insecure about what to do.

Kara lifted his chin to make Peter view her and said:

"Pete, I'm sorry ok? I'm really sorry of what I did to you, but you have to understand that I wasn't doing that..."

"Kara..."

"...It was, like, some sort of strange thing...You... Do you remember when I went to see that strange red smoke? I-I think it was there when it all started..."

"Kara... I..."

"...Something took control of my mind, I don-t know what it was, b-but I think I have it! I think the red smoke was like some sort of drug that affected me and took control of my actions. I don't have solid proofs, but..."

"KARA!", yelled the guy.

The alluded stopped talking and glanced at him, not knowing the reason of the sudden shout:

"My food is getting cold, so we must hurry up"

The girl stood in her place for a moment, but then she run to hug her best friend:

"Thank you! Thank you! THANK YOU!"

"Oh, my eardrums! You literally smashed them!

"Shit Pete! I'm sorry!"

"You're forgiven, don't worry", said the boy with a smile.

Kara now was leaving the room but Peter made an appointment:

"You are not going to go dressed like that to eat, aren't you?"

"Like wh- Shit, the suit! I am wearing it!" She turned to her friend. "Hey, could you cover me in these with May, please?"

"Yeah, don't worry"

"Thanks, I don't deserve you!

Peter shut the door down and Kara began changing. She put her black-yellowed suit hidden under her bed and wore an all brown T-shirt, with jeans and a denim jacket with brown heeled boots. When she was tying them, her phone rang:

"Yeah?"

"It's Kara Hart?"

"It is. Whom I talking to?"

"..."

"WHAT?"
