♡Season 1, Episode 10♡
Joy claps excitedly as John pulls into a parking space at LAX while he talks on the phone, "Yeah. All right. I am just parking right now. Yes, Joy is excited and acting like a kid on Christmas," He smiles at his daughter, "We will meet you at the baggage claim. Joy will be the one running and screaming towards you when your back is turned."
"And dad will be the one smiling cause his kids are together in the same place for the first time in years," Joy says, loudly in John's ear so the phone can pick it up.
He waves her off as he argues slightly with Henry, "Nonsense, we want to come in. Yeah, get ready for a couple big, embarrassing hugs. Okay, see you in a minute.:
John drops his phone on the ground and shuts hi door to pick it up, locking the keys inside, "You have fun getting those, I'm going to find Henry."
Joy runs off before John can argue as she heads to the baggage claim, "Henry!" She sprints at her brother as soon as she sees him.
"Joy!" He opens his arms, excited to see his older sister, "Where's dad? I thought you two drove together?"
"We did. He locked his keys in his truck. We should probably go help him."
The two head back towards the parking garage, surprised to see John getting arrested, "Dad?"
"Henry! Welcome to LA. Ow! That's tight. That's tight."
Joy snorts, unlocking the truck with the spare key, "Officer, I'm Joy Nolan. This is my father, and this..." She steps into the truck and grabs her father's ID, "IS Rookie Officer John Nolan of LAPD."
Henry looks at his sister as the cop runs John's ID, "Do you have to do this sort of thing often?"
"More than I would like too."

As they walk into the precinct, Henry makes fun of his dad, "Good thing Joy is always prepared or you'd still be in jail."
"Airport jail," John corrects, opening the door for his kids, "So, Henry, you sure you're okay Ubering home from here?"
"Yeah, of course. I mean, you can't be late for your shift, neither can Joy," Henry ruffles Joy's hair.
"I mean, I can kind of do whatever I want. Sergeant Grey loves me," Joy teases her dad, "But you can't leave until you see dad in uniform."
John reminds him, "Yeah, this isn't the kind of job where we can hang out a lot, you know?"
"Oh, I know. Uh, if you don't want me here, I can go," Henry gestures to the door.
Joy is quick to wrap an arm around him so he stays, "Nope. You can hang out with me at work. I mostly stay at the station and run comms or paperwork. It just depends on the cases of the day."
John also eases Henry's concerns, "No, that's not it. I'm just a little under the microscope here. They literally evaluate me at the end of every shift."
Henry continues pushing, "Are you worried I'll make you look bad?"
"No, that's not-okay, let me, um, get a fresh start here."
Joy cuts her father off, "You did that a few months ago."
"Ha, ha," John mockingly laughs, "Obviously the threat of airport jail has me a little of my game. I am thrilled to have you here, okay? Just maybe don't tell any embarrassing stories about me. Joy's got that covered."
Henry nods, sharing a look with his sister, "That's gonna be hard, there are so many."
"Really, there's not, though."
