"I'm sorry to say this but..." she trails off.
My heart drops. "What!? She's gone isn't she!?" I scream, making everyone in the waiting room look at me.
"No, no. But the doctor won't allow anyone outside of her family to see her at the moment," she clarifies.
I shake my head. "I'm her husband. I was the one who brought her here. I need to see her," I say as the tears become more frequent. She stares into my eyes before allowing me to go back. Jamie looks at her lap, fiddling with the blanket. "Can you get our parents? Their names are; Mark, Stormie, John and Clairese."
She nods before rushing off. I open the door, making Jamie glance up. "I'm sorry. I'm so stupid. I-I didn't want to get this close," she says almost immediately.
I sit next to her, taking her small hand in mine. "Don't apologize, babe, alright? You don't even need to say anything to our parents if you don't want to."
Our parents come rushing in as she nods. "Well, shit. I hoped you would've succeeded this time," her mom huffs.
I stand up after pressing the 'call nurse' button. "Excuse you? What's kind of sick mother are you?" I snap.
"You called?" The nurse steps in.
I nod. "Yes, her parents are trying to get her to commit suicide and I will not allow them here," I say semi-calmly.
Security comes and escorts her parents out. "I'm so sorry," my mom hugs Jamie tightly. "Hopefully you can come home soon, sweetie."
She nods. "Me too. I've been working from home. Well, I've been bringing my laptop to Ross' office," she runs her fingers through her hair.
"Jamie, you're a beautiful, talented young woman. What could've possibly drove you to this?" My mom asks as she takes a seat on the opposite side of the bed.
"Mom-"
Jamie cuts me off. "Ross, it's okay." She squeezes my hand gently. "I had to explain to Ross why I didn't want kids and it just brought up very vivid memories."
My mom nods. "Alright, sweetheart. The doctor said that you can come home tomorrow morning. Mark and I will come pick you up, sound good?"
Jamie nods with a slight smile. "Thank you, Mrs. Lynch," she hugs my parents before they walk out.
"Hey," I kiss her hand gently. "I love you."
She pulls me up onto the bed. She lays her head on my chest. "I love you," she replies.
